Please note, of the recent reviews, the May 20 and March 5 ones are from the Jamestown Settlement, not for this-Historic Jamestown. This is the National Park Site. As some other reviewers have noted, but it's worth repeating -- do NOT confuse this with Jamestown Settlement. If you're looking for ships and Indian villages you want Jamestown Settlement, just up the road. This is the National Park Service area, and is the site of the real village. Historic Jamestowne is the actual location of John Smith and the 104 boys & men that first came to Virginia. Not to be confused with the Jamestown Settlement museum and settlement recreation park with replica ships - located just a short distance away. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are well designed; the indoor is beautiful and very organized. However, the whole indoor exhibit area is not open yet, and that detracted from my visit. Wait until the indoor exhibition area is opened and then visit. more

The drive to Jamestown from Williamsburg (20 minutes & scenic) was gorgeous. There are beaches along the way and it's very beautiful.
