My husband and I rented a little two seat motorized boat at the beach area of the state park and about 10 minutes into our ride it started thundering and lightening and the life guards were clearing the water at the beach so we took the boat back. We were hoping to get a rain check or a refund since... More

Spent one night here in a tent. Saw a huge black bear on the road 20 minutes before the park but staff advised me that they've only seen one small bear in the park lately and since the park is on a peninsula they rarely any. Clean, level RV site which I used for a tent so we would have... More

This is a very well maintained park. It has a great beach area for swimming and playing in the sand. They also rent many types of boats so you can explore the lake, to include: pontoon boats, kayaks and canoes. We went on Memorial Day weekend but it wasn't crazy or packed with people. The park also has at least... More

This is a wonderful place to bring the kids. There's a good food bar, sand white beaches with life-guard and nature trails. It's available by boat or car. We like to go by boat once or twice with grandkids for variety. It's centrally located, the water is warm and clear with heavily enforced no-wake areas all around making it always... More

went on two hiking trails. lakeview trail was short and very easy. benches and picnic tables along the way. could see the osprey nest from the walk but couldn't get too close. turtle island trail was considered moderate but wasn't bad at all, just a couple of minor inclines so wasn't too bad at all. once out to the island... I loved this place! I went here a few weekends ago just for something to do. It was suggested by someone I knew, and although they went on and on about how great it was, nothing prepared me for what I saw. The scenery was breathtaking. Around every corner was an incredible view waiting to be discovered. The hiking trails,... More

We had booked a cabin here for September 22 - September 26. Price was great, all seemed well. Our friend even asked about cancellation since my wife's Mom was sick when we booked in July. The problem is we did not check all the fine print to discover what the policy actually was. Yes it is all there in black... More

We visited SML State Park on Oct. 7th. We were able to rent bikes from the Visitor's Center. We spent about 3 hours riding on all the paved roadways throughout the park and had a picnic lunch near the amphitheater. There was a picnic table right next to the lake. We basically had the park to ourselves as we were... More
