We love this property and make a family visit once a year. Always do an all inclusive activities package so we can each do what we like. Lots of activities available, but golf is the best! Play the Cascades Course at least once. New pool complex is nice but it can be cool even in the heat of summer. Afternoon... More

This a beautiful hotel with loads of charm and excellent service. From handling your luggage and golf clubs to wait staff and bartenders the customer service is top notch. Spa service was good and the golf professionals were attentive. There were a couple missteps in the food( I like hot bread with dinner and hot grits for breakfast) but overall... More

There is something for any and everyone to do at The Homestead. Unpack your bags and stay entertained (and pampered) for days, without leaving the property (except for a bite to eat at LCdO). The drive through winding country roads and farms, with mountain ranges in the foreground, makes for a very scenic drive there as well. Don't Miss: The... More

I spent time at The Homestead two weeks ago and wrote a revue questioning the honesty of restaurant staff. I had left a cash gratuity, but someone entered a $ 20.00 gravity to the check after I has signed it. I questioned this in my review as possible theft. As it turned out, it was an honest mistake made in... More

Lovely historic large hotel in the mountains of Virginia. Many amenities and things to do. Best time to visit is not during very busy and crowded holiday weekends.

I was with my husband. If I had known Presidents weekend was a HUGE family weekend, I would not have gone then. Kids running around everywhere! Tea time was just a madhouse. And it was freezing cold outside and many, many windows and doors in the resort do not close completely leaving the entire place very drafty - hard to... More

High tea every day from 3-4 should not be missed, small treats with piano music. the... More

Nice little ski resort. I expected it to be icy but I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the man made snow. Smooth and fun. It is super close to the homestead,m and the bus takes you there in just a few minutes. Great Rum apple cider at the bar,but $10.00 :{

We have three children and we stayed under the Learn to Ski Package for 5 days. It was a blast and the folks couldn't be any nicer. We did not dine in the Main Dining room b/c of the children, but enjoyed the food everywhere else in the resort, especially the Jefferson. We did however dine in the main dining... More
