This is a touch of the past which is enjoyable on every level. We had a fun visit to the store and enjoyed the music which was going on during our visit. We had lunch which turned out to be quite a surprise. My portabella spinich quiche was excellent, creamy goodness. My hubby had a vegetarian black bean chili which... More

There is something for everyone here - it is a genuine country store - you can get your Carhartts here! BUT it is so much more - small auditorium at the back of the store is a key stop on the Crooked Road - very good musical experience, evn better value, great atmosphere. At the front is a cafe -... This is a quaint and interesting store/restaurant. The food is home-cooked, but the wait to get the food is lengthy, and you'll be lucky to get a seat in their limited seating eating area. The food is mediocre, at best, but perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. The staff was very friendly. There was live music in the main eating... More

The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old country store as its name implies. Specifically, it offers an ice cream counter, classic candy and a variety of goods such as homemade soaps. While there, we enjoyed live, folk music provided by locals. The store also offers a wide variety of music for sale. Although the food was highly recommended, I found... More

Most Friday nights at 6:30pm there is live music at the Old Country Store. Admission is $5.00 per adult (not sure about children). We went the Friday after Thanksgiving and at 5:50 all of the seats were taken except for two! There were three bands that performed. The first was a Gospel group that had remarkable harmony, followed by a... More

We visited on a Saturday night and there was live music. The place was packed. We paid the $18/person- which I was hesitant to do. I was mistaken, best $18 of our trip! We had home cooked food, organic coffee and a large piece of apple pie while enjoying over 3 hours of live music. I am not a blue... More

The store itself is chock full of old time country and bluegrass music and instruments, plus a good assortment of kitchen goods, toys, books and high quality clothing. The Jamboree started at 6:30 and we were told to get there early to get a seat, so showed up right when they start selling tickets at 4:45. We browsed nearby boutiques,... More

I could spend a good amount of time here and I did on our Blue Ridge trip. I got some unique jewelry and Christmas ornaments and locally made soap. Everyone was so nice and a bluegrass jam session was setting up and getting in tune and they had lots of yummy food you could order and eat there or take... More

We visited the town of Floyd while staying on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We sort of got lost and got a few miles down the road from our Inn and accidentally found this place. It was Halloween night and the whole town was celebrating, like something you would see on Tv in a small quaint town where everyone knows everyone.... More

If you're into Bluegrass and 'mountain' music a stop at The Country Store in Floyd, one of the venues on Virginia's heritage music trail, is a must. We got tickets (get there early, there was bit of a queue) for the Friday night jamboree and, after a bowl of delicious peanut and chicken soup, settled down to hear 2 bluegrass... More
