The store itself is chock full of old time country and bluegrass music and instruments, plus a good assortment of kitchen goods, toys, books and high quality clothing. The Jamboree started at 6:30 and we were told to get there early to get a seat, so showed up right when they start selling tickets at 4:45. We browsed nearby boutiques,... More

I could spend a good amount of time here and I did on our Blue Ridge trip. I got some unique jewelry and Christmas ornaments and locally made soap. Everyone was so nice and a bluegrass jam session was setting up and getting in tune and they had lots of yummy food you could order and eat there or take... More

We visited the town of Floyd while staying on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We sort of got lost and got a few miles down the road from our Inn and accidentally found this place. It was Halloween night and the whole town was celebrating, like something you would see on Tv in a small quaint town where everyone knows everyone.... More

If you're into Bluegrass and 'mountain' music a stop at The Country Store in Floyd, one of the venues on Virginia's heritage music trail, is a must. We got tickets (get there early, there was bit of a queue) for the Friday night jamboree and, after a bowl of delicious peanut and chicken soup, settled down to hear 2 bluegrass... More

This is a really interesting general store that has great food anytime of the day. But more importantly its a gospel and blue grass music institution. On the Friday afternoon we stopped by they had a lineup of three bands -- gospel and Bluegrass. The cover to see the bands was only $5 -- a real bargain and the bands... More

We headed to the Floyd Country Store specifically for the music on Friday nights. It was lots of fun. People were friendly. Bluegrass bands were good. We simply enjoyed the whole time we were there.

Has a lot of nice things for sale, especially for the kitchen. Inside dining area. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway.

Woohoo for the Floyd Country Store! This is SO much more than a country store. Try if at all possible to get there on a Friday night, or a Saturday day - when there's sure to be some bluegrass/Appalachian/country music happening on the stage at the back of the store. A jamboree for all! Wowzer. Shall I say that again?... More

Great live bluegrass music played here. We also enjoyed our lunch which was a combo soup and sandwich special. For desert I had coconut cake (as good as grandma"s) and the husband had an "old glory ice cream" that he really liked. Store sells items like bluegrass CDs, locally made soaps, lotions, arts, and country crafts. There is also a... More

We throughly enjoyed are stop in Floyd and at the Country Store. The store was full of treasures. Although we were not there at the right time, many said the music is awesome that flows at different times from the store :)
