Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant is known for its quality Virginia wines, its scenic location along the Blue Ridge Parkway, its Black Dog Music Festivals and other special events, as well as its top-notch fine dining restaurant. The winery is open 7-days a week and offers wine tastings for $8 per person (for $2 more you may keep the souvenir glass). The tasting includes a tour of our winery. The Chateau Restaurant is open Wed-Thu 11-2, Fri - Sat 11-8, and Sun 11-4. Open for lunch everyday in October. Guests may purchase wine by the bottle or glass and spend time relaxing in our courtyard, in a private gazebo, or from our terrace overlooking the scenic New River Valley. Live entertainment is offered every Sunday afternoon, June through October and we invite guests to check our website for the many special events we produce throughout the year.

While Chateau Morrisette has a wide compliment of fine, delicious wines, I am a particular fan of their sweet wines. Their Labrador Logos make their wines great gifts for the dog lover in your life, and their Winery is a fantastic place to visit, have some lunch and enjoy the mountain views! If you are in the area, don't miss... More

Thanks for the great review. Our first labrador, Hans, appears on all of our labels. We love our dogs and as a result, we welcome dogs into our tasting room or anywhere on our grounds, except the restaurant where dogs are prohibited by law. We make a variety of sweet wines, including our Red and Sweet Mountain Laurels, Red and... More

Chateau Morrisette is a lovely place through and through. The grounds are beautiful, the wine is delicious, and their wine-tasting experience is top-notch. The guides are very knowledgeable, and one may either tour the winery, the grounds, and the buildings, or relax in the peaceful atmosphere that is this beautiful place. It is laid-back, unassuming and a great place to... More

What a wonderful and detailed review. Thank you so much. Our Elite Wine Tasting is very popular but it does require reservations so twe can make sure the table is set properly and that we have just the right foods to sample with your wines! Call us a week or so ahead and we will be happy to accommodate guests... More

We recently visited Chateau Morrisette for a wine-tasting and lunch. It is a beautiful location with great views. The winery employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The wine is fun and enjoyable. We walked over to the restaurant for lunch after our tasting. The food is excellent with a nice twist on typical Southern cuisine (i.e. Shrimp and cornbread grits.)

Thanks for the great review and we're very glad you enjoyed your experience. Chateau Morrisette is located at 3500 feet above sea level along the Blue Ridge Parkway. From this location, the view is about 180 degrees and you can see for 30 or so miles across the valley below. Many people just stop by with a picnic, purchase a... More

We showed up un the middle of the week in January, so they were a little dead. As we got up to the doors for a tasting, we realized that they were locking up, and I hate being a burden. However, we'd driven over an hour to get there, I didn't want to go home! Well, their associate, Kevin, came... More

Thanks for the great review and for taking the time to come see us in the winter. January through March is definitely the slowest time of the year. Often, the Blue Ridge Parkway closes due to snow and ice on the roads (they do not treat or plow the Parkway), so many people think they can't get to us. You... More

We live about two hours away and when we go on the Blue Ridge we always stop at the winery. It is in such a lovely location! We usually make two or three trips a year and always enjoy their wines. We usually order their wines on line. We love the Vidal Blanc.

Thanks for the kind words about Chateau Morrisette and for coming to see us so often. We do offer all of our wines for sale on the website and can ship to about 30 states. All state laws are different so if you live in state where we cannot ship, we hope you will visit us here at the winery... More

Took a cruise up the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped for lunch...nice wine, fabulous salad, and the medallions of beef were outstanding. Everyone in our party of six lived their meal and the atmosphere...a must stop of you are in the area or plan it and enjoy some of the best scenery around!

If you are traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway, this is a special place to stop and have a tour and experience their wine tasting. Great wine! Really enjoyed them, have ordered their wine online since, and love the Mountain Laurel varieties.

We had very good time enjoying tasting some local vines. This place is little hidden treasure in mountains of Virginia. We had founded by accident and really enjoy it.

I have been to a lot of wineries and usually find something unique and interesting about each one. We stopped by on a Monday and were the only ones there. The staff was not very welcoming and seemed to have the attitude that we were bothering them with our presence. Our tasting was very rushed with very little information about... More

This is by far my favorite spot on the BlueRidge. I have watched this winery grow from a single basement winery/restaurant to huge winery with still the best friggin restaurant at which I have ever eaten. The fireplace only serves to enhance the warm kiss of wine as I drink it. The chef is surely five star as he creates... More

Thanks for the great review and for being such a long-time loyal customer. Hope you can come back to see us again soon. Our chef has been with us for a little over two years and he changes our menu seasonally to allow us to serve the freshest ingredients. We grow many of the vegetables we serve in our vineyard...
