Wines at Villa Appalachia are outstanding. We liked them better than Chateau Morrisette, right down the road. The winery is smaller and more quaint. They have a nice outside area to enjoy if the weather is nice.

These Italian style wines are awesome. Red or white, it does not matter, as they age, they are smoother and more complex. We also had a cheese plate, that at $20, was generous and easily fed the two of us for lunch. Kudos to all! We'll keep coming back! Don't miss this if you find yourself on the Blue Ridge... More

While most Virginia Vineyards lean towards the French styles, Villa Appalachia focus is on the Italian blends. The Aglianico and Toscanello are superb. Even though they are 3 hours away, we find time at least once a year to visit, plus try to catch them at any of the closer festivals. Picturesque setting along the Blue Ridge Parkway, an excellent... We were visiting friends of mine who live in Floyd and they said we had to go to Villa Appalaccia Winery. It did not disappoint! The $5 tasting was awesome! The cheese plates were pretty abundant (although a tad pricey at $20) and we also ordered a bottle of wine that we liked from the tasting. The woman doing the... More

Just returned from our second visit to Villa Appalaccia. The winery is located right along the Blue Ridge Parkway and features a great selection of Italian varietals, some of which aren't normally seen in the U.S. The reds are consistently good, with great oak and smokiness, but not in an offensive way. We enjoyed a cheese plate and shared a... More

That said, this was not my boyfriend and I's favorite wine. My brother in law loves red wine and they seemed to have more of that variety than in the white wines, but we still managed to find a bottle. I loved the grazing platter at $20. This was a perfect stop to hold us over for a few hours... More

We stopped in on Saturday. Enjoyed the wine tasting very much. Only $5!!!!! What a deal!!! The wines vary - as do all such places - but a couple impressed enough that we left with two bottles! This is just a little north of Mabry Mill and, as I said - a nice stop.

We had an amazing tasting and grazing plate at the winery over the weekend. The wines were very good, but the atmosphere was AMAZING. My husband and I sat by the vineyards and enjoyed the music and beautiful mountain weather. Definitely worth the beautiful drive and we will be returning!

Love the intimate wine tasting with friends. A lovely bottle of wine, a cheese platter paired with live music was nothing short of perfection! Throw in the beautiful mountain back drop against the Villa and you feel you are close to Heaven! Thank you for the experience! We will be back! (and we will be ordering more wine from your... More

The winery is located about one hour from Roanoke, Virginia. I travelled here with family. It is a very scenic location in the mountains. The wine tasting was $5 per person and included 9-10 different wines. The patio area is a great spot to enjoy a bottle of wine after the tasting. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.
