Will definitely return. Has an awesome vibe, roaring fireplace, large indoor area, was busy but never felt crowded. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wish we lived closer so we could frequent this gem. Reminds me of a ski lodge in Colorado. Wine was very good but the atmosphere rocked. Must like dogs

Barrel Oak Winery has a great atmosphere! We were welcomed at the door and received great service by Dale for our wine tasting ($9 per person). There are many bars and indoor/outdoor seating options. The dog friendly atmosphere made it homey. You can bring in outside food and enjoy their delicious wine! We were told they will be serving beer... More

Greeted by the warmth of the 8' fireplace, with wonderful leather sofas, chairs, and tables to taste great fruit/cheese platters while sipping delicious wine. We enjoyed the BOW Red, the 2013 Cabernet Sav, and the Barrel Chardonnay (I also liked the Chocolate Lab dessert wine, and Viognier very much!).

This was my 2nd time visiting this winery, and my husband's 1st time. We stopped in on our way south and got to take our dog in with us - they are pet friendly, and so nice! We each did the wine tasting, which was great, and had the chance to relax for a bit on our journey. The staff... More

Stopped at this winery New Year's Day. Expected a crowd, and knew this place was dog friendly, but that is an understatement. I would guess that the majority of the guests had dogs with them in the tasting room, and a lot of people had kids too. While some of the dogs and kids were well behaved, others were barking,... while visiting my daughter in Virginia we went to this winery with my other daughters and their husbands and a six-month-old baby. Very friendly place very down-to-earth the wine tasting was excellent and very reasonable between six and $11. We bought a cheese and meat platter with crackers that was delicious and hummus and pita chips. We very much enjoyed... More

Don't think -ooh, Virginia wine? It's good and this is a fun place to hang out. Dogs and children welcome. Sit on a picnic bench outside on the hillside on a nice day. Bring your own picnic or order light food.

I loved the environment of this winery. I felt as if I had stepped into my grandparents house and was just stopping in. The wine was fantastic and the service was as well. I am not a fan of red wine but two of there reds blew me away! I loved the Chocolate Lab the best it is a must... More

We visited with family. We did the $11 dollar full wine tasting which includes 10 tastings. The wines were great (we ended up ordering a bottle to take home). The bar man was exceedingly nice: he gave us the wine glasses to take home for free. When we ordered the cheese and meat platter ($15 and it's a really big... More

I visited Barrel Oak Winery for the first time last evening, for their monthly ladies night. I was greeted at the door and presented with a gift bag and quick explanation of the raffle they were doing later. My friends were sitting by the cozy, crackling fireplace, which really added to the ambiance of the room. Unfortunately, they were not... More
