Nice Facility, Wines not to my Taste

We're members at Delaplane Cellars, and received an email saying that they'd be open on extra days during the holidays, and come on over with your visiting relatives. We did exactly that, on New Year's Day. They were having a special feature, black-eyed peas, cornbread and a glass of rose to salute the new year and bring good luck (an... More

Stopped at Delaplane Cellars on New Year's day. It's been a few years since our last visit. The facility remains very nice, and we had a good server who paid as much attention to us as she could, given the large crowd. The problem was the wines just weren't very good, at least to our (3 people) taste. We have... More

The facility is awesome perched high on a hill side; the wine is ok - just ok. They did have good entertainment.

Went here for our last stop. Wine was very good, I especially enjoyed the red blends. We have enjoyed comparing approaches of the winemakers with the juice they have to work with. We're partial to our Washington blends but enjoyed the comparisons. Facility was beautiful and staff very friendly. Definitely worth a stop.

We spent the afternoon at this winery. We went to Ashburn to visit our daughter and she selected this vineyard to visit and do a tasting. We arrived before the crush of the afternoon tasters arrived and had a wonderful experience! Our guide was Carol and she described each of the 6 wines we tasted remarkably well. She gave us... More

Great music on weekend and patio view to die for. Terrific weekend destination, but crowded and house wines, so so.

Last weekend we had our daughter from Chicago and my mother-in-law from Pennsylvania visit us to celebrate Mom's 80th birthday. She recently has had some knee issues and was using a cane. We have visited dozens of Virginia wineries, and we had specifically chosen to re-visit Delaplane Cellars because of the lovely view from their deck. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we... More

We're locals here and this is the best winery around, in terms of wines, views, hospitality, and food. Far above the others in its class. I read one cranky review on this site and you should just attribute that one to the reviewer's bad manners. It's completely reasonable for any establishment to ask that you not bring in outside food... More

This was by far the least inviting winery we have ever been to. We have visited over half of Virginia wineries in addition to California wineries and never have we been so unwelcome. We walked in right when the winery opened. We arrived in a group of five carrying several bags with snacks and water. We were immediately told that... More

With over 300 wineries to choose from in VA alone, deciding where to stop is hard. We enjoyed the live music and very warm welcome from the staff. The view was amazing and it was easy to relax, enjoy the wine and music the 4th of July weekend.
