It was a slow time to go to the Park. It was so beautiful and clean. It was nice to use our own kayaks and ride our bikes. They provided wood $4.00 for 10 pieces, that was really really nice.

Large camping area, nice swimming area, the restaurant food not so good. Have to be careful at night when driving, there are a lot of deer in the woods.

Our group stayed at white oak campground on Memorial Day weekend. The staff was friendly, always plenty of firewood to purchase, but the trip was overshadowed by the horrible bathrooms. The sanitary napkin trash wasn't emptied all weekend. Toilet paper wasn't replenished, and you had to hold the handle down on the toilet for at least 30 seconds before itwould... More

4 day tent camping stay in this wonderful Virginia State Park. There is something for everyone. Swimming lake, cabins for rent, fishing, boat rental, plenty of hiking, horse trails, biking trails and restaurant. All in one are park. The trails go from easy to difficult with many circle hikes to select from. The park is animal friendly except for the... More

Camped here with another couple for a short weekend getaway in early June. Our site was in the Whispering Pines campground. Sites here are very spacious, large, and spread out. We were at the back of the campground, so our site was also relatively private, as it was backed by trees and provided some shade. Some of the sites are... More

We spent a couple of hours here swimming in the lake, on the beach and on a paddleboat but this place wasn't quite what we hoped for. Now why was that? More information when you arrive would be helpful. We paid the fee and parked and then realised we needed to pay more to go on the beach by the... More

The park is beautiful, many spots to take in and appreciate. My only issue with the park was the numerous amount of signs that say you have to pay a fee. It was slightly confusing and overwhelming. It was slightly off putting to someone, like myself, who is only there for a hour instead of a lengthy camping vacation. But... More

Very well maintain trail for mountain biking and hiking. The view was great but mostly block by trees. The view should be great on late falls or winter time when all the leaf are down. The viewpoint mark on the trail map was good, but not the panoramic view that I looking for.

We love our Virginia State Parks and this one does not disappoint. Excelent campgrounds, facilities and hiking trails to keep you trekking for a week! Blue Suck Falls is worth the hike. If you want to get away from cell phones, tv and internet this is the place to go (no service). I think they do offer WiFi at the... More

Excellent campsites/facilities. Nice (small) lake. Well groomed/maintained, marked and placed trails. Awesome countryside.
