Taking the kayaking tour was a great and healthy activity for our family. We had 2 adults, 17 year old, 10 year old, and 5 year old. Everyone of us had fun. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable of the area, natural resources, and wildlife. We were able to see the ponies on Assateague, which was a wonderful sight... More

Very, very, very disappointing!! Four adults and one child . . . packed a picnic lunch thinking we'd be near the Nature Center and be able to explore that, eat, and then go on the cruise. But that did NOT happen. The Nature Center is no where near this site. There were no benches of any kind, only one port-o-john... More

This boat trip did not meet our expectations at all! We paid over $200 for three adults and three children to go on a two hour tour from one side of the water to the other side then back to the dock. Capt. mark's wife narrated the whole time, quite loudly at that. My husband asked to switch seats halfway... More

captain mark was late and very very slow. didnt seem knowledgable. we saw nothing, no horses, and the "cruise" was a short trip from on side of the water to the other. the workers seemed more eager to get paid for the trip than to actually take it. it was horrible and they crammed too many people on the boat.... Because our dear friend decided she wanted to see the Pony Swim up close and personal we decided to take a boat tour for the 89th Annual Pony Swim. This particular trip turned into a huge nightmare! We were originally told the boat would leave between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM, however this was never confirmed by the owner of... More

Fun time on the tour. Got right up to the beach where there was a herd of ponies. The captain kept the boat at the beach for quite some time so we could snap pics and watch the ponies. He also took us to the place where they do the annual pony swim. The other gentleman working on the boat... More

This is a wonderful but expensive way to see the ponies swim across to chincoteague. Wish I had known beforehand that the boat leaves at 3.45am, yes! am! And the ponies didn't swim till 11.40. The captain took an age to moor the boat, then lay down and left all the work to his wonderful assistant. She was very knowledgeable,... More

The pontoon was a wonderful way to see the wildlife up close and cover more territory than we could in a kayak. The horses were seen all over, and Captain Mark even spotted an eagle! He and the tour guide (being native to the area) were able to give detailed history of the horses and the islands, and explained how... More

Mark was the driver of our pontoon but unfortunately, I don't remember the woman's name who truly was the guide. Having been born and raised in the area, she gave us personal insight/history of the wild ponies, their eating habits, migratory movements, birthing, etc. She was personable, humorous, welcomed questions, and made the trip very complete. Luckily, the grouping of... More
