The pontoon was a wonderful way to see the wildlife up close and cover more territory than we could in a kayak. The horses were seen all over, and Captain Mark even spotted an eagle! He and the tour guide (being native to the area) were able to give detailed history of the horses and the islands, and explained how... More

Mark was the driver of our pontoon but unfortunately, I don't remember the woman's name who truly was the guide. Having been born and raised in the area, she gave us personal insight/history of the wild ponies, their eating habits, migratory movements, birthing, etc. She was personable, humorous, welcomed questions, and made the trip very complete. Luckily, the grouping of... More

Please do not be fooled by their fancy website. We made the mistake of booking a cruise when my husband came home for a deployement only to find disappointment. The so called captain Mark was 20 minutes late, didn't review life jacket safety, and spent our hour and a half fiddling with a boat marker in the harbor as we... More

The parking is an absolute nightmare, they will help you park but will not help you get out. We were told we might have to get on a smaller boat with no bathroom and no shade because we didn't have enough people to take the big boat. Finally the other people booked showed up, 15 minutes after we were supposed... More

This is in no way a cruise. It's basically 5-10 minute ride to a spot just around the bend in the inlet. Besides a two minute pre-recorded narrative absolutely no information was provided by the captain. That being said, I guess we got lucky too because as soon as we rounded the bend we saw the horses....dozens of them...including some... More

This was a really fun experience. The boat ride was great. We had the opportunity to see many shore birds, sting rays and we were even able to see some of the Assateague ponies up close. Enjoyed every bit of it. The captain and his crew are great as well!

I would definitely recommend this attraction to anyone who wants to get up close to the wild ponies of Assateague Island. We are extremely lucky the ponies were eating and running right in front of our boat. The reason I gave this a "very good" rating and not excellent is that if you're unlucky with weather or the ponies are... More

If you'd like a nice relaxing boat ride, this excursion is for you. We did see horses though, so we got what we paid for. Not impressed with the guides, hard to hear, no microphone and they talked to certain individuals a long time but put out little info to the group as a whole. Seats very hard, but luckily... More

I just got back home and I cant stop thinking of all the great herds of horses we saw. It erally surpised me how beautiful they are, I though being wild they would look rough or something. The foals were so cute. I told my friend and she went yesterday. She said she saw so many horses as well and... More

My children (ages 12 & 10) and I took the sunset tour with friends (children age 11 & 12) in June of 2014. My children and I don't do much kayaking, but we have been out in one on a calm lake before. The 3 boys started out in single kayaks and my daughter rode a tandem with me out... More
