First of all, I booked my crusie through paypal, and when I called the women had trouble finding the reservation. These things happen , but there was a child crying in the background and It felt like I was calling a crackhouse not a business. I sent her an email and she was finally able to find it...I asked what... More

Loved our outing with the Assateague Explorer. Boat guide took his time and did a great job of pointing out lots of wildlife besides just the wild ponies. We saw a bald eagle, dolphins and lots of migratory birds. A definite addition to your island visit. The kids will enjoy too.

Do not go on this cruise and do your research before you book! Owner was late arriving, they didn't use the speaker system at the beginning of the cruise so we couldn't understand anything they were saying when we were docked regarding safety, an introduction or any birds that were sited. Luckily we sat near the owner and he was... More

We took the boat tour with Capt. Mark on a cloudy, Sunday morning in early September. As there was only one other couple, we were on the small boat. The tour was pleasant and informative. A small herd of wild horses was visible, although -- not unexpectedly -- at quite a distance. This was fine with us, as we had... More

This was not a good boat tour at all. The boat is very slow and steady, which can be a plus for families with young children, but that means that in the one hour span of the trip, you end up seeing very little, as the boat slowly navigates the channel between Chincoteague and Assateague island. We didn't see the... More

Rented a tandem kayak for the day and the young HS attendants were very helpful but obviously not permitted to act on their own. They had to call and text in the owner with basic questions. Most unnerving was giving our credit card number over the phone with all details. Upon our return 7 hours later we were told the... More

We rented kayaks and paddled on our own. The kid that checked us in at the dock was quite bad at his job. He did not know of our reservation, had to text the owner and wait for a reply. He did not have a map of the area, and when asked for directions to a beach or interesting area,... More

Unfortunately, I didn'T think to check the reviews before before booking on the Assateague Explorer. A recording played the first half of the trip. For the money we paid, trip was only an hour and a half...up a little bit one way on the Assatague channel and then down a little bit the other way. Native captain was quiet with... More

Boat was SO SLOW and so was the captain. Saw NOTHING exciting. Spent over 200 bucks just for every other boat to speed past us while our boat went one mile an hour. Was a huge waste of money. Very disappointing. Never again...

Taking the kayaking tour was a great and healthy activity for our family. We had 2 adults, 17 year old, 10 year old, and 5 year old. Everyone of us had fun. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable of the area, natural resources, and wildlife. We were able to see the ponies on Assateague, which was a wonderful sight... More
