Description: Chincoteague Cruises & Nature Tours with a Native Son. Glide along island...
Chincoteague Cruises & Nature Tours with a Native Son. Glide along island waterways and plunge into local history with Eco-Tour Guide, Captain Charlie Birch, former US Coast Guardsman & seventh-generation Islander. We take pride in personalizing your tour to your interests--be it getting as close as possible to pony families, dolphin watching, scoping out the incredible variety of bird species , or enjoying a fun and educational hands on experience. On your tour you may visit Captain Charlie's "Hoof Prints" oyster farm, harvest and sample some of Chincoteague's world famous "salt" oysters. Another popular destination is the mini-barrier island, a remote sandbar that will allow the young ones to run free, explore and splash. We specialize in family groups, with a maximum limit of 6 guests. Our motto, "YOUR FAMILY, YOUR BOAT, YOUR TOUR".

Coming here on our honeymoon, we are so glad that we picked Chincoteague Cruises and Captain Charlie. Captain Charlie was full of knowledge and so personable. The boat was comfortable and he really made sure everyone was having an enjoyable trip on the boat. He really truely shows what all Chincoteague and Assateague has to offer on his cruise. Charlie... Found the experience to be very enjoyable even on a some what rainy day. Captain Charlie wanted to give us a good trip and he did. Enjoyed the information that he shared and his boat is a comfortable ride.

We had a very enjoyable afternoon touring Chincoteague Bay with Captain Charlie. His love for and knowledge of the area made for a great time. We highly recommend giving this a try.

My family and I recently had a wonderful day trip to the Chincoteague area that was highlighted by this cruise. Captain Tom promptly greeted my family and I as we arrived in started the cruise even though we were a little early. Captain Tom shared stories about the harbor, the surrounding islands, and his experiences. We saw Wild Ponies, Bald... More

My family and I, along with my sister-in-law and niece, went on a boat tour with Captain Charlie around Chincoteague on the last weekend of the season. Whereas many tour guides have their own agenda, Charlie's agenda was simple. Show us a great time but let the customers, particularly the kids, dictate the agenda. Charlie spotted multiple pods of dolphins... More

Captain Charlie Birch runs a family operation that tailors each tour to his guests. His boat seats 6, which makes it a perfect size for a family or a small group-- and Captain Charlie provides warm gear and binoculars for everyone! As we got to the harbor, Charlie greeted us warmly and asked us our interests in the barrier islands.... More

We had a wonderful tour of the islands with Captain Charlie. You couldn't ask for a better tour guide. We had beautiful weather and the scenery was exquisite. We saw wild ponies, island birds, salt marshes, and best of all - dolphins. The most exciting part of the tour was watching the dolphins swim right up to our boat! We... More

My wife wanted to do this. I did it for her. I'm glad I did!! We had a great time. Made some new friends and got to see a part of the Islands I wouldn't of seen otherwise. We did the sunset cruise. It was very nice! Even got to help some locals who ran out of gas back to... More

We had an excellent time on our scenic boat tour of Chincoteague/Assateague Islands. Captain Charlie was able to accommodate us on very short notice for a morning tour during which we saw dolphins just a few feet from the boat, ponies, wild birds and were able to simply relax into the beauty of the water and sky. He even provided... More

We chose Chincoteague Tours primarily because of Captain Birch's reputation and knowledge of the waterways around Chincoteague and Assateague, and we were not disappointed! The boat is a small vessel but with plenty of room for the maximum party size of six people. Our kids immediately announced that they wanted to see dolphins, and we sped off to seek them... More
