Run. Bike. Walk. The trails aren't too long and it's a great reason to leave the house. Check for ticks after you leave in the summer time and maybe use mosquito spray if you plan in being out for a while. NO bathrooms, either!! (But there's a McDonalds and a grocery store less than 2 min away.)

I go here multiple times a week. The staff grooms the approximately 3 miles of trails on a regular basis. I forget I am in the middle of the city when I run. Can't say enough good things about the park.

Great place to get the kids outside and running. There is miles of trails and all are kid friendly. Just make sure you pay attention to the signs and do not get lost!

Try to visit in the early spring or late fall- mosquitoes are so big they could carry off small children:)

My kids and I went here with a friend and her children last summer. We had a blast. The kids love running along the paths and exploring. They thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the various butterflies in the butterfly exhibit (and the volunteers there were more than happy to entertain lots of questions and teach the kids all kinds of... We love to visit. There are several trails that make for a nice time. The trails are soft and scenic. It is fun to take some time and explore every now and then.

If I had reviewed this after any other of my normal trips, I'd give it 5 stars, however after the trip this weekend...I enjoy the beautiful walk in the woods with my family on a pretty frequent basis, however this past weekend I saw several 30-somethings heading onto the trails dressed in nightclub attire (at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon).... The Chesapeake Arboretum is a bit of forrest nestled in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. It isn't very big and the trail isn't very long, but it is perfect for families with small children that are looking to introduce their children to hiking. It's even a great place to go for a romantic walk with your loved one. If you... More
