When we planned to go to VA I asked friends where there would be a studio I could take a fun class and this is the one they recommended. And it didn't disappoint. It was fun and informative - the owner is very knowledgeable and friendly.

No experience needed! The people who work here are more than happy (and patient I may add) to help their customers out with their fusion glass projects. You can gleam ideas from the plentiful examples that are sitting around. Anyone old enough to handle sharp glass can do this. I've seen several elementary school kids making amazing pieces. Cost depends... More

What a pleasant surprise to find this "walk in" glass studio in downtown Charlottesville! At first when we pulled up we weren't too sure of the area...looked a little rundown. But once we stepped into the massive studio space, I felt like Dorothy exiting her house and entering Munchkinland. The inside space was a spacious array of colors and textures... More

Several friends and I came here when they ran a Living Social deal for the BYOB class. We had a lot of fun creating our pieces (I can't wait to see how they turn out!), and the class was run pretty well, especially given how large it was (30 people or so). They were great about getting tools for us,... More

Thank you for your review - I am glad you enjoyed the BYOB Glass Art Evening, and I hope you were pleased with your glass art creations! I remember the evening well, it was the busiest one we have had due to the Living Social deadline ending and our attempt to let everyone make use of the full value of... More

I am lucky enough to live fairly nearby and am thrilled to have discovered the Glass Palette recently. Talk about creative fun! The large studio is full of intriguing, gorgeous demo projects and the tough part is deciding what to do. Jewelry, bowls, vases, dishes, sun catchers, mounted art pieces; if you can imagine it you can make it here.... More

Came here on a cold January day with my wife. Maria was wonderful in explaining everything to us about how easy it is to make glass art, and putting our minds at ease with it. After some instruction, we chose what we wanted to make and off we went, limited only by our imagination. You can use however much material... More

When my friends and I were planning a girls' weekend in Wintergreen / Charlottesville, Virginia, I looked up attractions on my trusty tripadvisor.com and found The Glass Palate, and what a find it was!! It is located in a fun outdoor (pedestrian only) mall that is great to peruse once you are finished making your masterpiece. The place was busy... More

After a quick lesson on glass cutting, you are free to create whatever you like. Jewelry, various sized dishes/platters, window hangings etc. Endless possibilities. You pay for your basic item then create whatever you like. Cost includes "cooking" and you go back a week later and pick your item up. Fun to do with kids or friends. Not for very... More

I have been to The Glass Palette twice. Once with my daughter and mother-in-law and once with my sister. We had a blast while we were doing it. It is on the back end that things seemed to fall apart at the seam. The first time our items where not ready when promised. The second time my sister was visiting... More

I remember you and your sister well, and the lovely mirror we helped her create for her home in Florida. I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience once you had left the studio. From my recollection the delay in getting her project to her had to do with a lack of communication (or miscommunication?) about where... More

We stopped here in the middle of our trip for a creativity break. Wonderful studio who takes walk in customers. Judy has sample projects that you can do in an hour. She will fire them for you and mail them to you if you are only in town for the afternoon. Wonderful experience and very helpful. I'm sure you will... More
