When my friends and I were planning a girls' weekend in Wintergreen / Charlottesville, Virginia, I looked up attractions on my trusty tripadvisor.com and found The Glass Palate, and what a find it was!! It is located in a fun outdoor (pedestrian only) mall that is great to peruse once you are finished making your masterpiece. The place was busy... More

After a quick lesson on glass cutting, you are free to create whatever you like. Jewelry, various sized dishes/platters, window hangings etc. Endless possibilities. You pay for your basic item then create whatever you like. Cost includes "cooking" and you go back a week later and pick your item up. Fun to do with kids or friends. Not for very... More

I have been to The Glass Palette twice. Once with my daughter and mother-in-law and once with my sister. We had a blast while we were doing it. It is on the back end that things seemed to fall apart at the seam. The first time our items where not ready when promised. The second time my sister was visiting... More

I remember you and your sister well, and the lovely mirror we helped her create for her home in Florida. I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience once you had left the studio. From my recollection the delay in getting her project to her had to do with a lack of communication (or miscommunication?) about where... More

We stopped here in the middle of our trip for a creativity break. Wonderful studio who takes walk in customers. Judy has sample projects that you can do in an hour. She will fire them for you and mail them to you if you are only in town for the afternoon. Wonderful experience and very helpful. I'm sure you will... More

My mom, sisters and I wanted a special activity to share to celebrate my younger sister's 50th birthday. I found The Glass Palette in Charlottesville, VA. What an amazing find! The mother-daughter team - Maria and Cara - who own and run The Glass Palette were terrific! They teach you how to cut glass and put your talent, or lack... More

I visited the Glass Palette on one afternoon and enjoyed myself immensely. Maria was extremely helpful with instructions on how to create a one-of-a-kind piece of glass art. As I don't live in Charlottesville, the studio will mail my finished piece to me, once it has spent time in the kiln. I'm really looking forward to displaying the piece in... More

My husband and I are new to the area and were looking for something to do together this weekend. What an amazing time we had~! It was fantastic to see my "engineer" husband take a look at his Right Brain! We had so much fun, there was great conversation, such a relaxed atmosphere and for less that the cost for... More

I enjoyed my time here and came out with a cool piece, but wasn't overly impressed. If you have lots of people who know what they are doing, you'll have a great time. And the staff do try to make it accessible. But for someone who hadn't done this before, it was a bit daunting.

I am sorry to hear that you did not feel as comfortable in our studio as we would have hoped! We try to be as helpful and encouraging as possible, and create an environment for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy. Most of our walk-in customers are children and adults with little to no art experience, so... More

My wife and I spent a couple of hours making a 12 by 12 glass bowl, and had a great time! The instruction was outstanding, the pricing is great, and the experience was fantastic. Treat yourself to a great time and visit this place!
