I was really excited to hear that Dave Matthews owned this winery and the setting was absolutely beautiful. They have quite a few wines to choose from so I definitely recommend doing a tasting which is super affordable and you get to keep the glass as a souvenir. The grounds are gorgeous and the tasting room had really neat aerial... More

Friendly, well informed staff. I did "splashes" of wines I wanted to preview to buy a bottle which they allowed and were helpful. Bought 2 good bottles and a Cab Franc boxwine for home, which y wine friend said was the best you can find in a box wine even worth the $40 cost because it was good wine.

We were on a quest for Petit Verdots for an upcoming wine tasting, and decided to stop in for a visit since we'd never been to this winery. The other wines we picked up were Governor's Cup medal winners, but we wanted a wild card for our tasting. Our pourer was very knowledgeable about the wines and very personable, but... More

Enjoyed the tasting and found many varieties of wine to take home. We especially enjoyed the Cabernet Franc. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The tasting area overlooks a beautiful Virginia valley with mountains on the horizon. As an added attraction, we were treated to a thunderstorm that punctuated the misty Spring air with bolts of streak lightning.

There are so many wonderful wineries to visit in this part of Virginia that you might be tempted to skip this one because it's owned by somebody famous (Dave Matthews). But we are very glad that we stopped and gave it a try. Warm and relaxed setting, yet still had a young and energetic feel to it. Two beautiful outdoor... More

I came here this past weekend while celebrating a bachelorette. We had our tasting in a private cottage. This was nice to have our own space, but I think we also missed out a bit on the rest of the facility. After our tasting, we got another glass in the regular bar area and took pictures on the deck. The... More

My wife and I had the great pleasure to discover this great winery. The people were very welcoming and very informative. As we had a long drive ahead we only tasted the mostly stainless fermented Chardonnay which had a very nice light-yellow green color and vibrant aromas of pear and apple. The current tasting facility is very nice but they... More

Visited here on Valentine's Day; it was crowded but we only waited five minutes for a tasting. For $5.00, you get to try five wines; the Chardonnay was very good; not very oaky. But the best was the Painted Red, a blend that was so good! A bit pricey, but oh so good! Small tasting bar, but very good service.

Upon driving up, the grounds look like a nicely landscaped barn/farm. But upon walking through the outside seating areas to the tasting room and entering through its huge doors, we were amazed by the BEAUTIFUL timber frame constructed building! The huge windows out of the back side were also amazing and let you have nice views of the valley out... More
