Great trail

Good views and different terrain on this trail. Well traveled - you will see plenty of people. We enjoyed our walk. There is also a playground area.

The trail is pretty, although not well maintained. With many leaves on the ground in the fall, it was difficult to spot roots and rocks waiting to trip you up. You also have to watch out for people playing "frisbee golf" and throwing frisbees across the path. Sadly, for us dog lovers, walking dogs requires that you de-tick yourself and... More

Walked it several times. Nice escape from the city. Can be alone there. Check it out in spring time !

The Rivanna Trails are an eclectic assortment of trails, from wide paths to cow path. The scenery along these trails, however, can't be beat, and especially so from Riverview Park (2 miles East of the downtown mall - just follow E. Market then left on Riverside Ave). Families, bicyclists, runners and dog walkers all enjoy this paved portion of the... More

The Rivanna Trail offers enough versatility that you can use it to train for a marathon or teach your kids to ride their bikes.

Our kids loved the paved sections and going into the woods. Great flora and fauna but watch the edge! Wear sturdy shoes if you go off path.

These trails are within the city limits and offer an opportunity to have some nice outdoor activities. We didn't get to raft as we were not prepared with inter tubes or rafts BUT we enjoyed biking and walking the trails. A good place to take your dog to exercise!

Beautiful walk along the river...many birds to see including woodpecker and blue heron! I wish I went back to a different section of this trail another day.

This roughly connect loop trail around the city provides interesting perspectives on places where most people stay tied to their cars. On this visit, we walked from the Meadow Creek Community Gardens to the north end of the stretch of Meadow Creek near Brandywine Drive. Our starting point near Bodo's Bagels and the English Inn on Morton Drive was not... More

The Riverside Park is small but nice and the Trail beside the Rivanna is very pleasant. The park provides easy access to the trail and there's sufficient parking.
