They had a nice set-up, nice views, but the wine and service was just average. I really wanted to try the Rose, but apparently they're sold out. It didn't mention that on the website; I probably wouldn't have visited if I had known that.

Located close to Monticello, Jefferson Vineyards was a quaint winery with a very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. In addition to being very friendly and staff was knowledgable and personable. We were a little disappointed that the connection between the vineyard and Thomas Jefferson was not really a legitimate one (we could have done research, but kind just went on... More

Dear Nicolas. Thank you for visiting our winery and feedback. In your review, you mentioned you were "a little disappointed that the connection between the vineyard and Thomas Jefferson was not really a legitimate one". Thomas Jefferson is key to our history. Jefferson was instrumental in convincing a viticulturist from Tuscany (Philip Mazzei) to settle near Monticello and start Virginia’s... More

We did not find a wine we liked, but we did enjoy our tasting. The biggest problem was we were there on a weekend. Well we live a long way from the winery and we have jobs, so weekend it is. This winery appears to be on the major wine tour route and it was crowded, very crowded. At least... More

Jefferson has the best meringue and Viognier. Steve is the best pourer--we've seen him at festivals and in house and he is fantastic!

The Jefferson vineyards is an excellent wine tasting opportunity (regular tasting is $10/person). It is not far from Monticello (Jefferson's home) in Charlottesville, VA so you can take in a tour of the winery and tasting before or after a visit at Monticello. There are other nearby wineries as well each offering a similarly priced tasting. You not only get... More

We have been to Jefferson Vineyards three times as we make it part of our fall drive to visit various sites in Va. We left with a case of Vin Rouge and other assorted wines to share. This year we added two other tours during our trip. Jefferson remains our favorite by far!

This vineyard has one of the best Viognier wines we have ever tasted! The staff were very knowledgeable and taught us so much during our tasting. We also sat in the comfortable Adirondack chairs around the vineyard after the tasting while looking at the beautiful scenery. I would suggest some inside more seating, however. On chilly days, you won't enjoy... More

Dear Abby. Thank you so much for your visit and your kind words. Kindly note that we have a second tasting room with indoor seating and a cozy fireplace. We will be opening up this indoor space more regularly by the end of November. Thanks again for your review. More

We stopped in for a tasting on a Wednesday afternoon after lunch at Salt Artisan Market. Very beautiful grounds with lots of outdoor seating. We sampled 10 wines for $10, which included a nice wine glass for a souvenir. We enjoyed all the dry whites and reds and had a lovely conversation with the person conducting our tasting. We selected... More

After our tour of Monticello and Ash Lawn-Highlands, we treated ourselves to the wine tasting at Jefferson Vinyards. The price is very reasonable, the tour informative, and the staff very patient and kind: we had lots of questions! We especially loved the Viognier and the Meritage. In fact, we went back a second time and ordered a case of Viognier... More

I recently went on a wine tour with Wish Wish and this vineyard was the first stop. They were more liberal than the other vineyards when it comes to wine tastings as they gave you 2 big sips of each wine rather than just one like the other wineries. The tasting building was nice and well stocked and the people... More
