On a recent day of wine tasting, we adored our visit to Jefferson Vineyards. Despite a very busy Friday (it was UVA's alumni weekend) we were given lots of of 1-on-1 attention and made to fee right at home in the tasting room. Thomas Jefferson was right: this part of Virginia makes some of the finest wines I've ever had. Every one I tasted on a recent tour was fabulous, and lives up to the dream of the man whose signature has become theirs. more

We enjoyed this winery very much. There was a nice variety of selections, as opposed to some of the other wineries, and the wines were all quite good. We were hosted by Chad, the Genl Mgr of the winery. He was very hospitable and knowlegable of wine in general, especially the Virginia wine industry. Very informative and enjoyable. We tasted many different reds and whites; generous pours; not hurried at all. Nothing really knocked our socks off. They were nice wines, but definitely not really good or great... more
