In town for a week so visited this area a few times. Overall good dining choices. Ate at Citizen Burger and Cafe Italian. Both good. Had a drink at Whiskey Jar. Good atmosphere with band on. Love the fact dogs are welcome at outdoor seating areas. Nice European feel to the place. Shop choices a bit disappointing. Going to try... More

Many restaurants, shops, street vendors, some street singers in this mall. We spent 2 hours dinner included. It was a cold day so not many people around. I liked to walk this mall. Charlottsville parking center has 2 garages (504 E Market St., Charlottesville VA and 200 E Water St., Charlottesville, VA) and one street lot (100 E. Water St.,... More

I don't know that this is an attraction. Instead, it's a pedestrian, small downtown area with lots of restaurants and boutiques. If you are there expressly to eat or shop, then it's a great area. If you are there just because, then about all you'll get is some exercise.

Good if you have a few hours to kill but not much longer. 1 to 2 hours at the most for us. Nice stores with plenty of affordable places to eat. We stopped in around lunch and it was perfect for that. We ate lunch and walked a bit before heading off to afternoon activities. Plenty of nearby parking. Probably... More

THis is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and dine "el fresco!" The dining options are many and the shopping is great! Enjoy antiques, new mens and womens clothing, bargains at pawn shops, and deals from street vendors. The day we were there you could get a hug for free from a gentleman on the mall. Your... More

This is a great, hip area. Lots of funky, boho shops and tons of awesome places to eat in downtown Charlottesville. It is easy to find.

If you were to compare this attraction to Old Montreal or Old Quebec, this is rather small pedestrian mall. You can spend 1-2 hours and you are done. There are parking garages nearby that accept CASH ONLY or CREDIT CARD ONLY. There's PIZZA , THAI restaurant, SALON and SPA, Banks, Visitor Center, Ice cream house, bookstore, toy store and among... We come here often and always bring anyone who visits, great for a night out with friends, spending the day with families and kids, shopping and lunch with the girls or just dinner with the husband! Our only problem is choosing a restaurant....so many great choices...very difficult to decide! Live musicians, wide variety of stores, wonderful food that can be... More

I went to this mall because a friend of mine, her daughter attends UVA, recommended it. Don't bother with this place. There is nothing "historic" about it except perhaps the age. There are a number of bars (UVA is only about 2 blocks away), some small locally owned shops, and panhandlers looking for money. I was there from 2pm to... More

Very nice "mall" which consists of an outdoor 8 block area with shops and restaurants on both sides of the street. The walkway is as wide as a road, but it is totally pedestrian. There are only a few areas where cars can cross, so it makes it very relaxing to walk and experience. It was very cold, and walking... More
