It is hard to picture the horrors of war in what are now sleepy, and sometimes pretty fields and wooded areas in this park. The trails are well maintained and it's a nice place to walk dogs if the weather is not too hot. There is even a trash can and recycling bin in the parking lot now. I also... More

a few informative signs and a bit of open space, the signs do not provide much info that is not common knowledge for anyone with interest in the war between the states... suburban sprawl has pinched in and relegated views to the backs of innumerable homes

Not much going on here but TICKS. Plenty of nice walking trails with lots of history on trail placards that make it quite interesting if you take the time to read them. Very picturesque old ivy covered silo, cool old barn and a couple canon. Not really much else to see. The grass 15 or 20 feet on both sides... More

Not much actually happened historically but good descriptions of general strategies of the time. Park poorly maintained. Lots of poison ivy, ticks and overgrown fields. Path is well gravelled. Could be beautiful if mowed, nice area.

This small battlefield is a nice short few mile run if combined with teh 1861, 1862 and 1863. It addressing camp life, disease concerns during the civil war, burial requirements and also tactical errors by rash manuevers which is all in one place. Its odd as its in the middle of a suburban area and lots of folks use it... More

I've been to a number of civil war sites and this one is kind of average. It is well marked, but its pretty much a field with trails and forest. Nevertheless, if its on your way, its worth stopping here to see what happened in the early years of the Civil War.
