We had a great visit to the park. It was centrally located to lots of activities. There were great trails and beautiful vistas. The birds woke us every morning with beautiful melodies. The sites were great....all gravel and the amenities were great for a state park. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for a place to camp.

I just checked this place out for the first time. My three children and I visited and rode our bicycles on some of the trails. The trails we rode on we're beginner to intermediate skill. The trails were either gravel or dirt trails and the children, age 8,9,11 were able to handle them well. The trails were very well maintained.... More

The bathrooms are well maintained and the facility is groomed and clean. It was grea to be in nature but not feel entirely off the grid, either. Note, there is no cell service in the camp area or nearby vicinity. My friends had to make the reservations for Memorial Day weekend almost a year in advance to get a spot... More

We stayed in our pop-up camper at the "RV" campground. The sites were beautiful and gigantic! We've been to many campgrounds and never seen so few sites in such a large area. The bathrooms are new and clean, and the showers were clean and warm! Note to Verizon phone subscribers, we were not able to get phone or data service... More

This ride is such a great place to be able to check out the scenery and be able to take a nice leaisurley drive and be able to take breath taking photos. It is a must see and you can pay one day and return again as long as u return within 7 days after your first visit. My husband and... More

Great park with excellent hiking trails and very spacious campsites. We stayed in a tent in the RV section because there were no tent only sites left but were pleasantly surprised that we had a lot of space and the site felt very private. We could have stayed a week and found plenty to do. The river is beautiful and... More

Took a trip to the beautiful Shenandoah national park to hike to see some of their waterfalls. I chose to do the Overall Run Falls (http://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/waterfalls.htm) hike. It took about 3 hours to do the 6.4 mile round trip. The views are spectacular when the treeline opens out to see the 93ft fall and the valley in front of it.... More

We came here with a small school group for camping, hiking and general outdoor fun. The RV/camp area was surprisingly nice for camping (not just a flat dirt tract) and there were small cabins (shed with a bed) for those in our group who wanted to be off the ground. The campground is relatively small so the kids could roam... More

We arrived on a Monday morning. Checked and was allowed to pick out our own site. They have 32 RV sites. We chose one with a beautiful view of the fields and mountains beyond. The have 17 trails from easy to difficult. We were there only 3 days but managed to do 3 trails. The walks through the woods were... More
