I thoroughly enjoyed this store - it was a walk down memory lane and it brought back so many childhood memories but the store wouldn't survive if it relied on my purchases - for me it was a museum type trip but as a store I found it quite pricey. Having said that, if I lived in the States, I... More

Anything you find at the Vermont Country Store you can find some place else cheaper. They cater to the tourist buses that trap you in their store and you have no idea they are ripping you off. They have a nice selection of items but need to understand they don't need to make a huge profit on every sale. The... More

Amazing, amazing place to lose oneself back in time. They had everything imaginable, from food, games, clothing, Christmas items, from yesteryear...we loved the sampling of cheeses , the helpful staff on choosing certain items. Many items were a bit high in price but definitely a must see place.

This is the place you come to remember your childhood. They have all the old candy. (Remember Chunky? I loved those raisiny wonders.) Penny candy too. I do not love that unwrapped candy is in opened containers. Also samples of dip, cookies, crackers, which are so much fun and nice to have before committing to purchase, are sometimes in uncovered... What a veritable wonderland of merchandise! We spent an hour at this quirky store which displayed goods, some of which recreated feelings of nostalgia with games and toys from our childhood, wonderful tastings of rich flavoured fudges, chocolate, an amazing selection of different flavoured cookies, cheeses of different flavours, savoury salsas and chutneys, hot spicy sauces, Christmas goods, clothing, etc... We've been here on a number of occasions. A while back, a clerk asked me if I wanted to sign up for the catalog. Sure, ok.....I did. Unbeknown to me, they sell your name and address and you will be inundated with catalogs from other companies! I have found myself phoning those companies to get my name off the "lists",wasting... Fun place to walk around because it is very nastolgic but watch the prices. We purchased a pint of Vermont maple syrup for $19.95 and later in the day bought another pint at the Sugarbush farm for $12.00. We feel that is an extremely oversized mark up and may be indicative of other items in the store. We have no... More

WOW! what a store, they have everything! When you get to the food section they have plenty of samples to try but beware once you try them its hard not to buy. We only had a short amount of time to shop so by no means did we see everything. The best thing to do when you're short on time... More

This place was recommended to us by the lodge we were staying at, they told us it was worth the drive. They were correct, there are some very unusual things in this store, some beautiful clothing and shoes (a little upscale and pricey), more home type remedies than I have every seen anywhere, and an unbelievable selection of Vermont cheeses....
