Nice old bridge, not very scary.

I have lived around here for years, and we stop there once in a whi8le, It's a nice old covered bridge, nice clear brook under it, barn board and old pegged timbers. Legend has it... read more

While this bridge does not appear on many of the maps of covered bridges online, it is a small and quaint bridge tucked off the main road (Route 100). As you might guess, it is located on Covered Bridge Road and is close to the border of Stowe and Waterbury Vermont. We stopped here and ate a nice picnic lunch... More

Visited as part of our road trip. Took loads of pictures of the bridge and in the water below. One of the locals explained how the bridge was constructed. He has put together an information board which will be going up in August. Worth a trip if you're heading up to Stowe.

If you like to have a leisurely visit to a covered bridge this place is for you. A bit off the beaten track and that is perfect. Lends itself to a quiet visit and the chance to walk back and forth over the bridge and check out the construction.

If you like covered bridges see this one. It is easy to find because it is on the local attractions map. We went under the bridge and enjoyed the river gushing over the boulders creating white water. Lots of great pictures taken. Stowe is also rebuilding a second covered bridge but it is not done as of June 2015.

I have lived around here for years, and we stop there once in a whi8le, It's a nice old covered bridge, nice clear brook under it, barn board and old pegged timbers. Legend has it that it's haunted by a young girl named Emily. I'll let you be the judge of that,

Easy to find, not far from Rt 100. Definitely worth the detour. Bridge is in a beautiful spot to look at Gold Brook. If you drive over the bridge you will be on a scenic, dirt road that will bring you out just above the school and "downtown" Stowe. The road has several antique homes on it that are beautiful.... We were on a "leaf peeping" and covered bridge tour of Vermont. It was great fun doing the scavenger hunt to find all the bridges. It was a beautiful autumn drive to this bridge and well worth the trip. Local legend says that a young lady, Emily, lost her life here - some claim the bridge is haunted. The stories... More

Having visited a number of covered bridges in Vermont and New Hampshire although not the biggest this one offers a bit more scenery. With the river and the Autumn colours in the background it is a good photo opportunity

This is an old single lane bridge. Well worth the short drive to see it and take some pictures. Get directions to the bridge from the tourist information center.
