Dog Heaven

Fun for people, too, but the dogs are ecstatic. Nice trails to walk on, benches to sit while dogs play. Definitely visit the chapel.

On a visit to friends, Lori, Miss Tahoe (a dog), and I visited Dog Mountain. Even in fall, the setting is beautiful, and Miss Tahoe enjoyed that she could wander leash-free throughout the grounds and in the buildings. Dog Mountain is a gift from artist Stephen Huneck and his wife, Gwen, and includes Dog Chapel, a memorial homage to the... More

My dad took me there on a sunny day and I was so impressed on seeing all the furniture made with dog heads and beautiful pictures of the dogs. The chapel right next to the dog shop is amazing all of these people that lost a dog or even a cat put up small post-it notes. I just can't describe... More

nice place for dog lovers and those traveling with dogs. They can run around freely off leash while you are there.

I stopped at Dog Mountain to do a little Christmas Shopping while on the way to visit a friend. There was so many great items (for people and dogs and of all prices) in the shop that I had a hard time deciding what to get and for whom. My dogs enjoyed playing outside with some other dogs while I... More

Excellent to visit any time of the year, but we especially enjoy snowshoeing in the winter and watching our dog bound through the snow and meet up with other buddies on trail. We finish up with a visit to the Dog Chapel and share in others' memories by looking at photos of passed dogs, knowing that when the time comes,... More

We wished we had our dog with us during our visit to Dog Mountain but we really enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. The views are spectacular, the trails were lovely, and we spent several hours enjoying this wonderful place. It is great for dogs, whether they like short walks or long ones and excellent for people too.

Located in the heart of No-where VT (St. Johnsbury) is a serene Dog Chapel and Art Gallery. Dogs (and people) are invited to hike the trails and swim in the pond - I didn't see these things, but was told about it by the nice man inside the Gallery. The place has a great story and was completely created by... More

It was an honor to visit this colorful chapel which honors all dogs past and present. Wonderful folk art wood working, great stained glass windows and millions of messages honoring dogs tacked to the walls. The story of the creator of this special place is heartwarming, as he and his wife are enjoying dog heaven now I am glad the... More

Make it a point to visit Dog Mountain outside of St. Johnsbury. It is a dog lover's mecca, and will pull out your heart-strings. The chapel is moving and the scenery from the hilltop beautiful. Take your 4-legged friend it you can - they are always welcome.
