lots of land and water and dogs freedom for canines to be canines and owners get to relax. sad endings for the founders but locals have stepped in to keep it afloat so please spend your souvenier money here. bring photos of dear departed dogs to put up in dog chapel.

I moved down the street from Dog Mountain several years ago (before Stephen and Gwen passed away). It is a magical place that brings back so many memories of our past and current 4 legged friends. They have great hiking trails , open for free to anyone and always open for our dogs to run free. There is no other... More

We stopped off with our two Labs on the way back from NH. Always wanted to visit. Beautiful views. Loved to see Stephen Huneck's artwork and the chapel. Great gift shop that supports Dog mt. Please continue to support this wonderful place if you visit. I hope they can keep it going now that the Huneck's are both deceased. our... More

We visited a few years ago with our elderly dog, and had a special experience there...we returned with our 2 year old newest member of our family and we had a pleasant road trip and got to bring our next dog to this special place...the gallery is fun, chapel fabulous and the atmosphere for doggie lovers is most special!

Dog Mountain is a haven and a tribute to humans and our best friends. It is the biggest and best thing in St. Johnsbury and for some reason the town seems to be at odds with this place. Please support it. St Johnsbury is a poor town and does not know the potential gold mine it is sitting on. We... More

We have been fans of Stephen Huneck for many many years. It started with our dog named Gizmo who would do anything for a ball. When I found Stephen's print with the black dog in the water for the red ball I just had to give it to my husband for Christmas. He loved it! After we lost Gizmo at... More

A must see for pet lovers anywhere. If you have a furry friend that has passed you can bring a photo and good bye message to leave in the chapel

We discovered this wonderful place while in Vermont. We took our 2 dogs to visit and were not disappointed. Our dogs acted as if they knew this place was for them . . . a beautiful quaint "dog" chapel for those who have lost their beloved companions. There is also a "gallery" housing art, t-shirts, etc. which helps to maintain... More

Since the Huneck's are gone, we hope Dog Mountain will be maintained in the manner in which they kept it.

The beautiful craftsmanship of one man dedicated to the thing he loved the most. A tragic tale, with a touching legacy. Even if you vaguely like animals, you will find it hard not to appreciate the skill of Stephen Huneck, even more so when it is set to the green hills of Vermont. A truely memorable place.
