The chapel is beautiful and it is in a nice setting, but they are lacking garbage cans and a real parking lot, so just be warned that there is a ton of dog poop that you will need to avoid (I stepped in it upon exiting the car). If only people actually cleaned up after their dogs. It was everywhere.... More

What a beautiful place to enjoy the art of Stephen Hunek and to share the experience with your dog. The location off of a country road can be found by the beautifully carved sign at the base of the mountain which is the beginning of a fantastic art experience and a prelude to what lies inside the Dog Chapel and... This place just took my breath away. It is ALL about the dog and our love for them. The chapel is an amazing tribute to our love for these incredible creatures. I cried as I posted my tribute to my darling dog. The stained glass windows are so lovely and the entire place is serene and beautiful!

Beautiful location created by artist Stephen Huneck. He has an art gallery and gift shop on the property. But the main event here is the Dog Chapel, with a few rooms of dog-and cat-centric items, showing how people love their pets. The walls are covered with very touching notes from owners to their pets, interspersed with artwork. Just like any... More

Do check out the Dog Mountain website to read how it came to be- it's pretty special. This is a gallery, park with trails and dog ponds, and chapel, all designed by the artist who created the place. The Dog Chapel is particularly incredible- an actual chapel built for dogs and their people. All the walls are covered in memorials... More

I have been following Dog Mt via it's website for the past year since a coworker in Cambridge MA told me about the Dog Mountain story. I have purchased several items of Stehen Huneck's whimsical art to support the pure mission that honors the amazing joy our animal friends bring to our lives. The strong connection I have felt to... The dog chapel is very moving, there are plenty of interesting pieces and souvenirs in the gallery, and dogs run off leash all day...what not to like? We were there with a dozen dogs, playing by the pond, walking a hiking trail, and having lunch. Wonderful time.

It was a nice break for my dog to get out of the car and run. After reading all the reviews, I thought it would be much more spectacular than it was. It's free though, and not far off the beaten path, so it's worth a stop. The town is cute and fun to drive through as well, so that... More
