The Wood is well-known locally for its extensive permanent collection of historic Vermont art. It is now in spiffy new quarters on Barre Street (in a refurbished building) and has rotating collections as well as regular special events. The location has changed and it is amazing what they are doing with the place, the art is beautiful, great place to go

This is a great local institution with a wonderful permanent collection and lots of revolving exhibits but -- it recently moved to new digs at 46 Barre Street and is still in the process of getting re-established in this new location. Call before making the trip!
