My wife and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon with the Harris Hawks at the Green Mountain Falconry School. The instructor, Rob, was wonderful and had lots of funny stories. The birds were amazing and obviously well cared for and happy. My wife is afraid of bugs, but she was so fascinated by the birds she never noticed any of the... More

Thanks for your review and some great, helpful comments. And we finished the season with a full team of hawks, many of them 15 - 20 years of age....I'm pleased to say they must have all decided that they are on to a good thing! Hope to see you back again in the future. More

My husband has always been mesmerized by birds of prey, so I surprised him and my sons with a visit to the falconry school. I am so glad I did! Rob quickly responded to my requests for information when setting up the trip and was accommodating when we arrived a little early for our appointment. It was hailing when we... More

Thanks, Susan...we couldn't ask for anything more than being a part of someone's lifelong memories. And our decision to make all bookings private has apparently worked out really well for our guests. We can be more flexible and tailor a program to the individual/party, ensuring ample opportunity for photos or answering specific questions. We're looking forward to your return as... More

This was certainly the highlight of this trip and a truly incredible experience. You have the choice to handle the birds or not. It's up to you. I believe it costs less if you are not handling. Up front I will say that it is not an inexpensive thing to do but if this experience in on your bucket list... More

My husband and I had our first experience with falconry on a trip to Ireland and we had been looking for somewhere in the US that offered an equally impressive experience. Rob at Green Mountain made sure we had a great time! His hawks that we took out, Monty and Wallace, were so good and very responsive to us. You... More

Thanks for checking us out - it's great that you found us and had a good time. Since your visit, we have extended out trail system over another 10-acres of stunning Boorn Brook Farm property. We've even had several sightings of a young moose....I can't guarantee every walk leads to an encounter, but the chances are much better than they... More

I had the pleasure of meeting Rob Waite, master falconer, this past Sunday for an Introductory falconry lesson. Well worth the experience and the money. Rob is a wonderful instructor and his hawks/falcons/eagles are majestic animals. The experience leaves you with a deeper appreciation for these birds, hawk conservation, and the skill that Rob possesses both at an teacher and... More

I booked an introductory falconry lesson and Hawk Walk for my 20 YO son and attended as a spectator. Before the lesson Rob answered my emails promptly and gave me all the information I would need to be prepared. The location is easy to find- just a few minutes from the Manchester village center. Do pay attention to his address... More

I am so thrilled that you and your son had such a good time and that the experience remained with him. And sharing the hawks' individual traits is great fun - definitely they are not pets, but that is very different from being without personalities. Thanks also for highlighting the new location. We are tucked away and can be tough... More

I don't know if this is for everyone, but if you are interested in birds, particularly raptors, this is money well spent. Rob is a wonderful teacher & his birds are really remarkable creatures. My wife & I went in early August & would certainly do this again.

I agree that it is not for everyone, but the huge variety of people it appeals to is stunning. Our guests all have their own special reason for a fascination with birds of prey and/or the practice of falconry. I'm so pleased you both found this a worthwhile experience - thank you! More

A wonderful day the four of us enjoyed with Rob and Diane out in the great outdoors of Vermont learning to work with and actually spending hours one-to-one with falcons, hawks and eagles. All of course under the watchful care of Rob and Diane Waite. Seeing these wonderful birds soar above the treetops and then swoop down at great speed,... More

Our trip was so much more than simply "visiting" the falcon center . . . and close to impossible to put into words. Rob Waite, the falconer, is not only quintessentially knowledgeable about the birds and his sport but is also delightfully charming and accommodating. I brought a few friends, including an elderly man, and Rob made it possible for... More

It's always a lot of fun to take out small groups. Having been established here in Manchester for over 20 years, we are now fortunate to see many return guests bringing multiple generations along. I am delighted that all generations find it equally fascinating. And because all bookings are private, we can tailor things to a group's requirements. I hope... More

Rob and Diane treated four of us to a fascinating introduction to falconry! Ancient frescoes and sculptures, medieval manuscripts, paintings and tapestries show very same activities we enjoyed in the beautiful Vermont countryside. What seemed at first quite remarkable, that a large bird would land so precisely and lightly on one's gloved fist, became almost playful as our visit continued... More

Thank you - we loved taking you out there! One of the things that make this such a special sport is that it has changed so little over the centuries. When looking at ancient tapestries or paintings, it's fascinating to be able to easily identify the falconer's range of equipment that is still in use today. More
