Took a class with Andrew with my 12 year old son as part of a Christmas trip, a few years ago. It was fantastic. Andrew is clearly a master of his craft but he was also a great teacher for both me and my son. We got a good sense of the art and made some beautiful items which we... More

Andrew and Al were great. You have to get past Andrew's very direct and forward personality. Andrew is extremely safety conscious. His job is is quite difficult, he has to take complete novices and teach them how to do something that is potentially dangerous while ensuring that the customer has an enjoyable experience without injury or mishap. To accomplish this Andrew... Glass blowing was so interesting! With the help of the owner and assistant you can make a really beautiful glass item: bowl, vase, or carafe. You choose the type of piece you want to make, then the specific colors and style. After this, you are helped through the entire process and end up with a really beautiful piece (which you... More

Four of us signed on to a glass class where we each "created" a glass object to our color and shape specifications that turned out amazingly well for amateurs. Andrew and his very able assistant guided us carefully while making us feel that we were actually creating the finished products - all of which were impressive, at least to our... More

Manchester Hot Glass is the King-Kong-Daddy of fun/artistically enriching places to see in the 05255 zip code. Manchester gets its share of static from some Vermonters who see it as a tourist Mecca that's sold its soul to outlet stores instead of embracing a more rusticated Green Mountain ethos of shuttered storefronts, the inescapable aroma of manure, and intractable unemployment.... Few days ago we visited the Hot Glass in Manchester. I tried to call it in the morning with no success. When we entered the store the owner was eating his lunch. We asked if he is open and he said that he was. Annoyed by our presence to say the least, lazy, full of himself and not willing to... More

So sorry I did not jump from my seat to give you all warm hugs. Yes, it was lunch time when you came in. My employees were out on break and I was left to watch the shop. You asked when we'd be working I responded "in about an hour....after our lunch break" You asked "can we watch" I said... More

This was something that I thought the wife would like and so I was reluctantly willing to do this. It turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip! Andrew was very entertaining! The experience was very educational and a lot of fun. We took the class and made some paperweights, glass cups, a vase and a wavy... More

I took my 12 year old daughter there to make her own paperweight! What an amazing experience as you can see from her expression!! The owner Andrew is quite a character-we really enjoyed meeting him. I will be returning next time I am in Vermont to take my own lesson!! If you are in Manchester, this is a must!!

And not only the glass. This is a MUST when visiting Manchester VT. Wife dragged me kicking and screaming. Crafts are not my thing. BUT this was exciting. You make your own stuff. OK you do have help but your in there blowing and turning and blowing. Wife made a vase (turned out excellent) I made a wavy bowl--it was... More
