What a great tour to get a sense of the Manchester area. Sharon was extremely knowledgeable, interesting, and very nice. We would have missed out on a lot of cool sights had it not been for this tour, and Sharon also had some great recommendations for other things to see in the area. My husband and I were unsure of... My wife and I went on the 1PM Southern Vermont Sampler Tour. Sharon arrived at the Manchester Visitor Center about 10 minutes before the tour was scheduled to start to meet and pick up the tour participants (the tour begins and ends at the Visitor's Center). The three hour tour went by very quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There... More

Sharon is the owner and guide, and we've never met a lovelier stranger. We were hesitant to go on the tour with our infant daughter because she's not keen on car rides these days, but Sharon assured us that we would only be in the bus for short spurts. She also patiently waited for us since we were running late,... More

My husband and I only had one day in Manchester, and I am so glad we chose to spend it doing this tour! Sharon is so much fun and gives a real insider's view of the area. She is so informative and entertaining, and she took us to places we would have never known about otherwise. I had read some... More

I am from MA and went on my honeymoon to the Manchester area. My wife and I booked one of the sample tours for $35pp with Sharon. We could not have been happier with our experience, which included the oldest rock quarry in the US, an alpaca farm, a maple farm, and other nice sights. Sharon was very personal and... More

We, four adults, really enjoyed this afternoon tour! Sharon was our guide and she was very informative to things we never would have known about the Manchester, Dorset, Pawlet areas. We saw an old marble quarry swimming hole, Alpaca farm, working farm with baby animals, maple sugar house, with samples to taste, along with old general stores and beautiful picture... More

My husband & I booked this tour knowing we would visit places we have experienced before on our many beloved trips to Manchester and the surrounding towns. Sharon, our tour guide, has first hand knowledge of the area having been a resident over many years. We learned so many little tid-bits of information that we had not known and because... More

Sharon gives you a terrific view of small town life in Vermont. You see things you would never have sought out on your own. You learn things about the Green Mountain State that a tourist would never find. She is engaging, and warm. This was a great way to pass some time and not do all the driving yourself!

I recently returned from my annual trip with life long friends. This was our first trip to Manchester. I usually spend hours trying to find interesting, informative, and out of the way places to accommodate all of our interests. Our Inn recommended Sharon from Backroad Discovery Tours and what a terrific recommendation it was. Sharon should be the ambassador for... More
