Overall rating would really depend on what is showing. We were there this weekend for the "members" show, which was so-so, but the grounds are great, the Center well maintained, and the overall experience fun. If you are really serious about art, it would matter a lot what's showing. We spent about an hour there, walking around included.

Visited the SVAC for the first time with my girlfriend today and we greatly enjoyed our time there. The drive up the long winding road with sculptures along the way was a fun way to start the experience. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and spent around one hour viewing the current member exhibition. It was a Thursday afternoon... More

We visited the Southern Vermont Arts Center for the first time on a pretty, snowy Vermont day. The grounds along the long and winding driveway up to the museum were "dotted" with interesting and creative outdoor sculpture, made even more appealing because of the lightly falling snow. While the Wilson Museum was closed to visitors, there was a wonderful and... More

The Southern Vermont Art Center has art exhibitions that change frequently. Primarily, their artists are from the local area which is inhabited by many excellent artists. They offer musical programs, lectures, and art classes. They also have a permanent exhibit of very good local art. There isn't any charge on the opening day of new exhibits. In the summer, they... Located in Southern Vermont..this art center is far from the typical..it seems artists are very interested in having their works displayed here... The overall quality of the exhibitors can easily compare to any art centers in the northeast .. Always on display are highly successful artists..the over all variety of exhibitors is well displayed..worth the time and effort to see... More

We've been going to Manchester for 20 years and JUST discovered the arts center. There was a show exhibited as well as the permanent collection. The location and structure are fabulous. Wonderful views from their Mt. Equinox location! I would recommend, however, the gift shop be expanded. A wonderful time!

I highly recommend a visit to the Arts Center.  Nestled on top of a hill you will find a charming center for the Arts.  From the beautiful paintings displayed to the performance space where I saw Jim Brickman perform and many others...this is a can't miss.  The buildings themselves and property  have a charm themselves that make you feel like...
