Northshire Bookstore is a family-owned, independent bookstore. We are one of the largest bookstores in New England. Northshire Bookstore was voted Best Bookstore in the country by Publishers Weekly magazine and Best of New England by Yankee magazine. Come see why so many people rave about this full-service, old world but up-to-date store. Many gifts as well as books and a whole floor devoted to Children!

This is a bookstore with soul. The selection is well-edited, and the used books are interesting and plentiful. Staff picks are found in every section.

This bookstore became a bit of a second home. Went everyday on our holiday and had coffee and read books. Don't know if I will be back to Vermont now, but I will travel back in my dreams I am sure.

This is the type of bookstore that I love! Independently owned, large but felt small and cozy at the same time. Books everywhere as well as other miscellaneous things that you could buy, all of which seemed cool. Everything about this bookstore was awesome, I could spend hours in a place like this! If you love books, this is the... More

The folks at Northshire Bookstore - Manchester, VT are so incredibly knowledgeable. We asked for a good book by a Vermont author to give as a Christmas present and the employee showed us a huge selection of books and had read or was familiar with most of them. Another great experience shopping there.

Where I'm from, a bookstore is a cold 'internet like' buyingplace. This place is a experience! their inventory is awesome, never seen! Even found a travelbook on Holland, where it had tips how to pronounce Dutch words, was that fun. A funfilleds tore, wich I hope will win from the icecold internet shopping!

Northshire is a fabulous bookstore with every conceivable topic - ranging from Best Sellers to a very extensive Children's floor. The sales help is remarkable and helped us for over an hour to choose our holiday gift-giving. It is truly a 1-stop shopping experience, esp for the holidays. They also keep you up-to-date with emails and guest authors' scheduled appearances.

Independent bookstores are clearly an endangered species in the U.S. This is one that deserves to have a long and happy life! What makes it so fine, I believe, is that the staff stock it with books that often would be hard to find at chains like Barnes and Noble--not bland enough! However, they are not so esoteric that they... More

This is one of the best bookstores I have ever been into in my life--in fact it might even be the best ever. It is multiple rooms, nooks and crannies and several floors of new and used books, a great cafe as well as some lovely gift ideas all under one roof in the downtown core of Manchester, Vermont. Along... More

As we don't have a local book store we annually go to Northshire Bookstore. They have excellent selections of new and used books. The employees are very helpful.
