This bookstore has something for everyone - all ages. Even a café. So many nooks and crannies to explore and 3 levels. We spent well over an hour inside.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon to southern Vermont and had to try Northshire Bookstore based on all that we had heard about it. We loved it. My wife loves bookstores and is from NYC and she said it was one of the best she'd ever been in. We walked around and browsed for awhile and then got... More

The Northshire Bookstore sells books the way bookstores use to sell books before Amazon.com and the internet. I'm glad it's holding on. It wisely markets itself as one of Vermont's tourist attractions on the Vermont map, as otherwise we would have missed it. Even Stephen King gives it a big up. May it continue to thrive and prosper. Despite the... More

This is one of the best book stores in New England! The variety of books was incredible. The people working there knew their books and made great recommendations for me. I especially liked how the store was set up. It was easy for me to browse in the sections I was interested in. There is a cafe to eat in... More

Wonderful old building, creaky wooden floors, lots of reviews and staff recommendations. If you love browsing through books, you will love this place.

I visited here recently while vacationing in the area..... I'd been several times before. I love this place because of all the nooks and crannies in this building. The staff are friendly and helpful and they have clean public rest rooms. I bought greeting cards, per usual, but it was fun to peruse the book titles as well, especially in... More

Lovely, well organised and classical music in the background is a paradise on earth. There's toys, gifts, bargains books, used children books and a coffee shop.

If you are someone who loves bookstores, and could spend hours browsing the stacks, this store is for you. On a cold winter night, my wife and I stopped in just to check it out and spent almost 3 hours here! The selection is vast, but my favorite part is that the store has staff recommendations and reviews spread around... More

Love the local bookstore - found cute crafts for my kids - great books - fair prices. Bookstore is large, well spaced/laid out, staff helpful. Love this gem!

While yes, this is just a bookstore, it is a very good one. You could spend a lot of time here and come out with a lot of books. The layout of the store is great, where each section has it's own division, almost split into rooms, if you will, with some comfortable seating, if you need to do some... More
