Everyone loves the Northshire! Every book imaginable for all ages, one of the best children's sections I've ever seen, and great gifts/cards as well. Good lunch spot on site and easy parking. Always seem to spend a couple hours in there. Grandkids love it!

We are regulars at this bookstore and there are always new things to see and browse. They also have a very great event schedule with a variety of authors who visit and give book talks and do signings. If you are a reader, join their book club as the benefits are great!

A great, large old-style bookstore with an excellent selection, including rare and used books, covering the gamut. Friendly, helpful staff---including worthwhile book recommendations. If you like books, you must stop in if you are in the Manchester area.

Northshire Bookstore is not to be missed when in Manchester. I lost several hours wandering and reveling in the wide variety of offerings. The setting is beautiful, including the mural by the front door and the spectacular stairway to the top floor. So many nooks and crannies to explore and very accommodating staff. Love, love Northshire.

With Amazon and books I thought bookstores were a thing of the past. But a place like the Northshire will never be obsolete. A visit here finds me setting aside the Kindle for awhile to read the books I can't help but purchase when I visit. Staff picks have never led me astray and there is more to this place... More

This is a unique place to go in Manchester, Vermont. Filled to the brim with books, as you would expect from a bookstore, but also lots of "extras". The bookstore itself is charming, with wonderful old wood floors and lots of nooks to relax as you browse. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Loads of bookcases, but also other displays:... We went there on a lark after the front desk attendant of our hotel told us it was great. We were headed to Maine and needed reading material. OMG. What a find! First, when you enter, you can fill out a postcard, give it to the front desk and they will stamp and mail for you. Adorbs! Then, walking through... More

In the day of Barnes and Noble and Starbucks it is so refreshing to find a local book store with a great selection along with a local coffee house with a wide variety of local bakery items.

This is a great place to spend some time. It is easy to get lost in the different floors of books. Stop at the cafe for a snack too.

Just absolutely the best bookstore I've ever been in. Very quaint and they even have a lovely and interesting restaurant/deli on the premises. Don't miss the used book section for good bargains. Most weekends they have visiting well known authors discussing their newest books. There's also a large selection of gift items here and they feature a large selection of... More
