A wonderful day the four of us enjoyed with Rob and Diane out in the great outdoors of Vermont learning to work with and actually spending hours one-to-one with falcons, hawks and eagles. All of course under the watchful care of Rob and Diane Waite. Seeing these wonderful birds soar above the treetops and then swoop down at great speed,... More

Our trip was so much more than simply "visiting" the falcon center . . . and close to impossible to put into words. Rob Waite, the falconer, is not only quintessentially knowledgeable about the birds and his sport but is also delightfully charming and accommodating. I brought a few friends, including an elderly man, and Rob made it possible for... More

Rob and Diane treated four of us to a fascinating introduction to falconry! Ancient frescoes and sculptures, medieval manuscripts, paintings and tapestries show very same activities we enjoyed in the beautiful Vermont countryside. What seemed at first quite remarkable, that a large bird would land so precisely and lightly on one's gloved fist, became almost playful as our visit continued... More

This is something unique to do in this area and I found it fun. It is pretty expensive for the amount of time you get to spend with the falcons. The area is beautiful, though, so it is nice just to be outside doing something fun.

My husband and I enjoyed a morning spent with Rob and two if his hawks, Monty and Wallace. This is now known as Green Mountain Falconry and is in a beautiful location alongside the mountain in Manchester. You can find more info on their facebook page, and they still work through equinox. Rob was a great teacher and is clearly... More

We loved walking the quiet woodland trail with 2 Harris hawks following, at times swooping down to land on our outstretched arms for a tasty morsel. Rob is very knowledgeable about all aspects of falconry and is the perfect host for this unique experience. We plan to return on our next trip to Manchester!

I'd always had a healthy respect for birds in general, bordering on fear. (I've been bitten by a couple of grouchy African Grey Parrots as a child) .... I needed to face that fear head-on and decided that the British School of Falconry and holding a bird of prey would be just the ticket. My instructor (forget her name) was... More

My husband & I love birds of prey & I have always dreamed of a Falconry experience & this was it. We both handled a Harris Hawk and then ended the day with a Hawk Walk. Although expensive, we truly enjoyed this unique experience and learned a lot about the birds.

I brought my wife here on a lark (pun intended), for a unique experience. It was sooooo cool, and soooo interesting. She took a lesson, and loved it. A little scared at first, but the trainer was so patient and explained everything beforehand. Great stop!

My wife came upon this after another experience with raptors in Ireland. This was one of the best vacation experiences ever. We learned about the history of falconry, much about the different raptors involved in the sport, the care of the current birds and spent significant time learning the characteristics of the sport. And yes, I said sport. The birds... More
