Even with an 11:30 tee time on a Sunday, it was fantastic. We were lucky to have a local join us, as many have mentioned, and it really does make a difference. Very interesting course where you will use most of the clubs and shots in your bag. The greens, while not fast, rolled true and were very challenging. Hoping... More

This up-and-down mountain course with some spectacular views was in pristine condition in August 2014. There are very few level lies or straight putts, so it challenges your ability to handle rolling terrain, specially on the greens. Because of this and some blind shots, it is a course where your performance will improve with experience and local knowledge. Discounts are... More

Dear Soxfan, Thanks for taking the time to visit us here at Green Mountain National and for writing such kind words about the course. Our superintendent and his crew work very hard to keep GMNGC in such great shape and things are just about as close to perfect as we can get right now! We absolutely agree that "local knowledge"... I play GMN every summer on a golf trip to Vermont. It's like a beautiful woman---you probably get burned but somehow you don't mind! A lot of blind shots, so it's helpful to play with the friendly locals. Not a long course but generally very tight. For a mountain course I think it's quite walkable. A lot of people ask... More

This is a very nice golf course. It would be very helpful to have a local with you as there are quite a few blind shots on the course. One of the most scenic courses I have played.

This is our favorite course in Vermont. It is tough and challenging, you will want a cart as there is a lot of up and down to the course. The clubhouse is small but has very good sandwiches and a small but nice golf shop. The employees are all very courteous

I played this course on a 2 day trip to Vermont. I had heard lots of positive feedback on it. It is a very challenging layout and demands a golfer bring his A game. There are a few odd holes, but that just seem to happen when you are building a course in the mountains. The 2nd hole is a... More

DT705 - We hope you'll take your "second crack" at GMNGC very soon and it was a pleasure to have you! Thank you for taking the time to write a review and "local knowledge" will certainly help lower your score next time around! Thanks for visiting Killington and playing at Green Mountain National! The course is beautiful and the terrain is challenging...the greens fees are average and the club house is small but nice. You MUST take a cart...walking would take ages and definitely tire you out (and hike the green mountains all summer long). GMN is well worth a round.

Challenging but great golf. Don't even think of walking as it is up and down and long walk between holes. Look for discounts in New England Golf Guide
