You can’t beat the Appalachian Trail in Vermont. Just out of this world. The first twenty miles or so after leaving Massachusetts is fairly easy going. That is until you get to Bennington and start into the Green Mountains. That is where the fun begins. Fantastic vistas, great climbs, lots of flora and fauna. You can’t take enough photographs. You... More

Decided to do this with two other girlfriends as a weekend getaway. It exceeded our expectations! At first we were not thrilled with the accomodations. Though the lodge is perfectly nice, the room is a typical ski lodge room, not attractive, but very clean and functional. All the people behind the front desk were very accomodating. John who is the... More

As a solo traveler, I thoroughly enjoyed my five days with Appalachian Trail Adventures. I was pleased that the guides paced the hikes to suit my needs. Kayaking was fun and I particularly enjoyed going over the beaver dams - loads of fun! Food was good with adequate choices. The Jacuzzi was nice to relax in at the end at... More

My mother and I had been looking for a guided trip somewhere within driving distance (we live on the East Coast of Canada) and came across Appalachian Trail Adventures online. We booked it not knowing much about it, other than what we saw online. It was the best thing we could've done, exactly what we were looking for! The weekend... More

Hiking, kayaking, caving - all in one - in a short back to school vacation. Cozy lodge with lots of a-la carte activities, friendly and experienced staff and nothing-to-worry-about meal plan make it even more enjoyable. Many thanks to John, Betsy and Aeolus.

My 26 yo daughter and I ventured up for a weekend hike last fall and had a great time! We enjoyed a few hikes, some longer, some shorter, and a kayak trip on a local lake, John personally guided us on the lake kayaking, which made it easy on us beginners. We made friends on the trip with some folks... More

My daughter Krystyna wanted adventure and a physical challenge - while I just wanted to get off the grid. John and his ATA team of Aeolus (he's the best hiker! - mind you he has two more legs than the rest of us!), Betsy and Sam ensured that we both got the vacation of a lifetime. The hike up Killington... More

This was my first hiking trial and I was pleasantly surprised by the staff. There were guides enough to accommodate all experience levels. Everything was covered and all I needed was to enjoy myself! Thanks, John!
