We had a lovely time on our mother-daughter vacation. The main draw for us was an outdoorsy trip geared to different interests and levels. John was generous in providing guides for a faster-paced and slower-paced hiker. He also allowed the younger and more athletic of our set to try white water kayaking. The guides were really amazing. We spent the... More

I had a fabulous time with ATA! I was in a group of 5 women, and very nervous that I was sorely unprepared for our adventure. I was worried about holding people back, that I would be too slow and clumsy. Not to worry with this group! Everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace and to enjoy their... More

If you are considering an all-inclusive hiking adventure, look no further than Appalachian Trail Adventures. We just came back from a 4-day adventure that was PURE PERFECTION--from the moment we were greeted by John Keough, owner and trail guide, until the moment of departure, every possible detail was attended to, and everything was run like a well-oiled machine. We signed... More

This was a perfect getaway! Went with a group of people with varying abilities. John is so well organized and knows the hiking trails so well that everyone was able to enjoy their experience. Also loved the kayaking and caving! John takes care of every detail (and there are many) so all we needed to do was enjoy our vacation.... More

Went with my mom, cousin, aunt and family friend, age range was 35-65+. I can not reccomend John and ATA enough, he and his guides were beyond accommodating to our varied hiking abilities, he also planned excellent non-hiking excursions. This was a wonderful experience, I would reccomend ATA to anyone, one of the best family trips ever, I can't wait... More

We had an ideal three day trip--two moms, their two adult daughters, and a family friend ranging in age from 35 to 69! The owner John is a really great guy, well suited to his job in that he is organized, detail-oriented, knowledgeable, thoughtful, funny, and friendly without being intrusive in any way (single girls, this may be additional motivation... Owner John takes details into consideration and delivers an itinerary to suit individual hikers needs and ambitions for their hiking adventure! Guides Leslie and Sam were super friendly, very trustworthy, and great company out on the... More

My weekend with ATA was one of the best solo trips I've ever taken. Originally scheduled to go in August, I had to cancel my trip twice, but John didn't give up on me. He welcomed me as though October was my first/original reservation. A native Brooklynite, this was my first time doing anything like this, so I was a... More

I can only echo all that has been said before me. My sister and I and another were looking for something to do for a week Appalachian Trail Adventures fitted the bill perfectly. Each morning John would arrive and work out the options for the day with the aim of providing everyone with what they wanted. Which is exactly how... More

My week with ATA exceeded my high expectations. I coordinated the visit with a friend who had gone three years before and loved it. In our week long stay I enjoyed 6 hikes (mostly 5-6 hours with a shorter outing on day of departure), kayaking, massages, yoga classes, hot tub, and even a tennis lesson with an expert pro on...
