This was one of my favorite 3 day vacations. I have been on a few guided hikes such as this but this one was the best. I will start with lodging. Even though it had more rooms than it appeared, it still held that sense of coziness. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable (very imp to me). Dinner... More

My grandaughter and I spent a wonderful week in Killington and surrounding areas with John, Aeolus, and the Guides. We had a great time hiking, kayaking, and shopping. John is the ultimate planner making sure everyone is comfortable and happy. Aeolus is the best guide dog ever. What a trooper! The guides were awesome and encouraging, creating a welcoming atmosphere... More

John personalizes the experience for every person and goes out of his way to make sure you're satisfied. You can choose an easy hike, moderate hike or hard hike every day. You can add kayaking, excursions, caving, or anything else you'd like to see or do. John has great guides (we had Leslie and Sam) and his dog Aeolis was... More

We enjoyed everything about our hiking and kayaking adventure. We have never seen a better run operation. Designing a program to fit the lodging, the meals, and the excursions into a package was a stroke of genius. John and his staff really know how to treat guests and to customize an experience. Our vacation was perfectly tailored to our goals... More

Truly excellent experience! Spent five days with John and his team of awesome guides. Hikes are tailored to your skill level. Enjoyed hiking and kayaking with a delightful group of guests and guides. The partners included for lodging and meals really round out a fantastic package.

Put simply...everyone should visit ATA. I have just returned and it was without doubt one of my all time favourite vacations...perfection! The treks and scenery were beyond belief. Then there was kayaking on lakes and rivers which also looked like they were straight out of a photography book or movie. There was caving and a host of other available activities.... More

Stayed for a week with john and his team. A lovely bunch of incredibly helpful people nothing was too much trouble. As the trees began to turn the views from these special hikes became more stunning by the day. Also met some great fellow guests. All in all a very successful and inspirational vacation.

Both us & our student employees from Lithuania thoroughly enjoyed our summer outing in Vermont. They were so pleased that we chose this kayaking trip in the woods away from all the tourists sites. John explained the basics of kayaking which were quite easy to pick up & then he acted as our guide. The beautiful calm lake in Chittenden... More
