Wonderful adventure on the coast of Lake Champlain with lots of hands-on experiences for children. There were lots of "creatures" to find and to learn about, with a good deal of staff to incite and advise.

This place was about only an hour to get through but the kids had fun and it was a great place for a short visit!

It's tough to find a place that appeals to all my kids, ages 17 to 9, but this fit the bill. Hands on stuff for the younger ones and informational stuff for the older ones. There are alot of tanks with various aquatic critters and everyone liked that. What the kids loved the most was being videoes while "reporting" the... More

The museum had interesting, hands on activities for my toddler and elm student. Was wowed by how many animals they have. Well worth trying when you have time.

This was a great great place to bring my friends 11 year old while she was over at Fletcher Allen. He had endless hours of fun in here. They had very knowledgeable people all around the place who were running activities for the kids. The cost to get in here was well worth it and they allow the children to... More

My son loves sea animals, aquariums and zoos; so I agreed to take him here. Given that we visited the Montshire Museum of Science just a couple days prior, this excursion left something to be desired. Both of my kids had some fun and I had an interesting conversation with a volunteer regarding differing perspectives on water use, but I... More

We have been to Echo numerous times and still love it! I took my 5 year old boy here while 2 of his older siblings were attending a hockey camp in the area. We made buttons, puppets, played in sand, built things, and even played in water. The key about going to Echo is to play like a kid! I... More

We visited Echo Lake Aquarium last week while vacationing in Stowe. Our kids range from age 10 to 14. There was definitely more there for the younger ones, but they all enjoyed it. They have one area where I believe they rotate the exhibits. Right now it is Keva planks, which are basically flat Lincoln logs. The kids had a... More

We have been to the Echo Aquarium a few times while we were living in the area. Every time I hoped that it had improved over our last visit, but I was always disappointed. The admission is not cheap, and to be perfectly honest, there is very little offered within its walls. You can busy yourself with your kids, at... More

We've been to many aquariums throughout the US and this one, by far has the fewest actual fish in it. Very few live exhibits relative to just about any other aquarium in the country. There are however many many interactive exhibits and things to do geared towards kids who could easily spend hours here doing all that's available. We did... More
