We belong to a local children's museum and ECHO offered free admission for ASCT members, which we took advantage of and saved a few dollars. If you have children, I would recommend a visit here, especially for a rainy day activity. The museum seemed like a children's museum, aquarium and science museum all-in-one. We all really enjoyed it. I have been... more

Rough day at the Aquarium. I guess we had our expectations higher on the "live" animals. There were turtles, some nice fish in a few fish tanks...kids were a bit disappointed. What topped it off was the little play area where they can climb and stuff. The wooden structure fell apart as a little child was coming through the cutout...and... more

We travel often and live near metropolitan cities. ECHO is delightful but definitely not as large as we are used to. That being said, my kids were busy for 3 hours and didn't want to leave...they even skipped lunch to stay. It's only 1 1/2 floors but it will keep younger children busy (mine are 3 and 6). There are... more

I am a local Burlington resident, and ECHO is a really special place. Not your ordinary showcase aquarium, the focus here is on kids learning about the local ecosystem by having fun! Lake Champlain is a beautiful lake for recreation but kids may wonder: what lurks beneath the surface? ECHO is specially designed to help them find the answers! Shipwrecks,... more

I live nearby and my family has an annual membership. This is relatively small but still we enjoy visiting numerous times each year. They have one exhibit are that is constantly changing, which keeps it fresh. As for the other reviews, yes parking in the area sucks but then isn't that true for many downtowns? TLC, I agree that there... more

I have two kids, ages 2 & 5, and we love going to ECHO. The staff are friendly, the exhibits of local aquatic wildlife never ceases to thrill, and there is a little something for both of them. The exhibits could be a little dull for older kids (8+), but younger kids can enjoy going nose to nose with a... more

My family and I visited the ECHO recently while in Burlington. Our 7 year old was very excited to go here but this quickly faded to disappointment. Many of the exhibits didn't work anymore or were in need of some TLC. For example, she was going to search for fossils in a sandbox, but there was no sand in the... more

Good activity for kids while in the Burlington area. There are many interactive stations about the lake, weather and nature. There are a few animals on display, mainly turtles, frogs and fish. There is a small touch pool however they only let you touch the starfish, not the crabs or anemone. I did not give this an excellent rating because... more
