I never would have guessed that a lakeside aquarium would hold my children's attention for over two hours. We stopped here over the weekend as a rainy day activity. Lots of nice exhibits - particularly hands on exhibits. Information delivered in a child friendly way, volunteers eager to engage the kids, etc. We were pleasantly surpised at how much fun... More

Very interesting venue with well presented displays and plenty of hands on opportunities. We learned a lot about the formation of Lake Champlain and the marine life that it contains. This is not just for kids. We even had fun making a weather report on TV which we were able to email to our grandchildren! ECHO is definelty not to... More

ECHO is an interesting place to visit if you are interested in learning about the natural history and present and ancient marine life found in Lake Champlain. It includes lots of hands-on learning activities for young to middle school aged children (and adults!), and living exhibits of local aquatic and land creatures. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, exhibits are clean... More

This is an appropriate sized venue for my kids, ages 5 and 3. it is just big enough to let them guide themselves through their own interests and they always have a different event going on in their exhibit space. It is conveniently located right their at Burlington's waterfront area, so after taking in a few hours at echo, you... More

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, this museum has a lot of great information about the history of Lake Champlain and the wildlife and species that roam around it, and also has incredible displays inside. Would recommend, especially for families with small children and for science and geography geeks like myself.

My 4 yo had a blast here. He spent a lot of time at the watershed exhibit. Bring an extra shirt as they do get wet. Story time was excellent. This place does a good job at engaging children. My 6 yo also had a good time.

Just a wonderful place to take the kids for the afternoon. Just filled with floor after floor of science oriented exhibits. All very vey hands on, and with experienced staff everywhere to help kids understand what it is they are playing with. There are playrooms, tanks with frogs and fish, a part of a sunken boat to crawl on...you can... More

This is surprisingly attractive for a place this small. However don't expect to see a great variety of sea lives since this is nowhere near the facilities at Monterey, Long Beach, or Sydney . We were there over a year ago. It is however a good place to spend a few hours if you have time on your hands.

Great learning place for 2-10 years old. My older ones got restless. We did enjoy the out side view and walking around the area. The hands on stations were good.

My 17 year old and I went to this center and were a little disappointed as we thought there would be more fish exhibits and activities geared toward adults, not the case. This is a great little discovery center, however is definitely geared toward younger kids. In my opinion, 11 or younger. Great water table and hands on activities for... More
