This is the third time I have ridden this ferry. It doesn't hold a lot of cars but we have never had trouble getting on as long as we are there thirty minutes before. It is about an hour ride and you can watch the sail and motor boats go by but there isn't shoreline to see as you are... More

We were going from Burlington VT to Port Kent NY. We were going to head down the interstate in New York once we got across Lake Champlain. It was a very nice ferry ride. Peaceful, scenic, and timesaving. It cost ~$38.00 for 2 adults to get across on a car. It took about 1 hour. But it was cheaper than... More

Great little boat ride. Ferry there every 15 minutes, no line ups and reasonable. Motorcycle friendly, friendly crew.

One hour return sail from Essex was a great way to capture aspects of life around lake in a short time. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Might not be the Cunard Queens but it was fun.

Went north of Burllngton to the Plattsburgh Ferry. Crossed several times this past week. They are well organized, have their act together, and there was never a long wait. My daughter often parks on VT side, then crosses over to see her boyfriend. Her car is safe waiting for her return in the parking lot. This saves her money by... More

Took Grand Isle Ferry from Plattsburg, NY to Vermont. Nice scenic ride and a real time saver. Only complaint is that they don't take any credit or debit cards which is very inconvenient, especially when traveling. It's 2015 and a business that large really needs to get with the times and make it an option for customers to use credit... More

I thought to take the ferry from Port Kent, NY over to Burlington but as it doesn't start until 9:30 on the NY side I then drove to Plattsburgh, about 25 minutes away and took the much cheaper and much shorter ($10 and only 15 instead of $30 and 70 min) ride. From Grand Isle, Burlington is only about a... More

They squeezed us onto the ferry as the last car. We went from Vermont to Essex NY. Short ride. Remember to bring cash, no credit cards. $14 for car, driver and 1 passenger.

Really the only way to cross Lake Champlain and take in al, the scenery. Bit pricey, but to be expected.
