Great way to see a part of New York while staying in Vermont. Took the 30 minute minute ferry ride from Charlotte to Essex - $9/ car. Extra for additional riders. Then enjoyed a beautiful drive north along the shore in New York. Got on the ferry at Port Kent for the one hour ride back to Burlington VT. This... More

Coming home from Motreal, we stopped at a motel in Plattsburg and the desk clerk suggested we check out the ferry since we were returning to Rhode Island. Early Sunday Morning we headed for the Port Kent access point to the Eastbound Ferry! We expected that we might have a substancial wait since we had no idea of a schedule... More

We took the ferry from Port Kent, NY to Burlington, VT. Our children enjoyed it and had a blast cooling off in the sea breeze since it was a very hot day. Great scenery of the Green Mountains and Adirondacks when on ferry.

A picturesque ride with or without your car. Ferries from Essex, Cumberland Head and Port Kent. Various lengths and prices depending on which ferry you ride. Beautiful scenery of the Adirondack and Green Mountains. Lake Champlain is also very beautiful and has significant historical naval battles.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience! My family and I were staying on Burlington for vacation. We wanted to take a scenic cruise around the lake, but since the cruise lines were too expensive and wouldn't allow dogs (whom we always bring with us) we settled for the commuter ferries. Turns out it was anything but settling. -> Amazing... More

We were delayed picking up our rental car so only arrived at the Essex ferry terminal about 3 minutes before the next departure but were still able to get on. It was a clear, sunny day and the views across the lake and of the mountains were spectacular.

Our Google directions, unknowingly to me, brought us strait to the dock to guide us to Burlington. What a treat. A nice, scenic cruise across the river was just what we needed after a 6 hour car ride from NJ.

We love to take the ferry crossing between Burlington VT and Port Kent NY. It takes about an hour and gets you there without the trouble of driving out of the way. It is scenic and quite beautiful with the Green Mountains on the VT side and the Adirondack High Peaks on the NY side. Safe and a lot of... More

This is the third time I have ridden this ferry. It doesn't hold a lot of cars but we have never had trouble getting on as long as we are there thirty minutes before. It is about an hour ride and you can watch the sail and motor boats go by but there isn't shoreline to see as you are... More

We were going from Burlington VT to Port Kent NY. We were going to head down the interstate in New York once we got across Lake Champlain. It was a very nice ferry ride. Peaceful, scenic, and timesaving. It cost ~$38.00 for 2 adults to get across on a car. It took about 1 hour. But it was cheaper than... More
