Going from Massachusetts to Plattsburg (NY)it is fun to take the ferry over almost two miles. This time the temperature was 12 degrees F so we stayed i the car. 10 dollars for a car with one passenger plus $4 for any additional passenger. When the weather is nice the view on both sides Vermont and NY is beautiful. It's... More

We planned our trip so that we would be able to take the ferry across Lake Champlain on our way to Lake Placid. It was a great trip and these two Southern Californians were excited to be "on" one of the Great Lakes.

We had taken a drive up to Stowe and on the return wanted to visit friends in Albany area. Options are drive all the way down and around and back up since there's no bridges, or take the ferry. There's three crossing spots, way up near Plattsburgh, Burlington/Pt Kent and we took Charlotte/Essex, which was a few bucks cheaper. Its... More

Our bus went across the lake from NY to Burlington. For goodness sake, get out of your vehicle and go up top to the second level where you can see! Nice, pleasant trip!

This was a quick trip from NY to VT. The ferries run very frequently so there was little wait time. The ferry itself was in very good repair and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Great way to get across the Lake to VT and back. The ferries run very frequently so you don't wait too long on the dock. The loading is extremely efficient and you're right on your way. It's lovely to watch the water and scenery. It did seem a bit expensive, but well worth it!

I took the Lake Champlain Ferry on a windy and cloudy day with a light mist and it was still enjoyable and relaxing. Lake Champlain is beautiful and this is the best way to experience Burlington and Lake Placid!

Lake Champlain Ferries at Charlotte, Vermont is an excellent way to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Champlain, New York and Vermont shores. We always get a round trip ticket. It takes about a half hour each way. It is such a relaxing and beautiful trip!

We were two older couples touring the Northeast. We actually crossed from the Port Kent side. There was some trepidation about the >$50 fee; however it was worth every cent! The hour was filled with beautiful views, nice crew and invigorating breezes. It is worth a little extra traveling to take this trip. Just be aware of the season. We... More
