I had my wedding here and could not have asked for a better location or people! Sue was amazing to work with while planning the months in advance. The food was absolutely amazing! They did everything there to make it the most special and easy day ever. It was an absolutely beautiful location and venue! My family stayed in the... More

Although we did not go to the lake house, my daughter and I did go to Grand Isle state park which is on an island in the middle of beautiful Lake Champlain. We had a delightful swim in the lake and enjoyed exploring this beautiful park. The island is accessible by car.

This is one of the most beautiful venues you can imagine for a wedding. Sadly, when I was here, it was raining but still we had a great time. I spent the night at the lakehouse and the next morning I was able to experience the beauty first hand. During breakfast I took my coffee outside and sat in the... More

This wonderful, nostalgic property has lived at least three lives. Once upon a time beginning with its construction in 1903 this was a grand old hotel, then a girls' summer camp, and now a lovely Vermont Inn where events such as weddings, corporate retreats, wine tastings, etc. are held. I spent many wonderful summers at this location when I was... More

A nostalgic turn of the century hotel carefully preserved for use as a wedding venue. FABULOUS food and service. Best wedding I've attended, hands down.

Historical and lovely. Went to a wedding here: everything was perfect: food top notch (I'm an ex-chef) the staff worked like crazy, but invisibly so the day just flowed. A wonderful place.

Gorgeous mountain views on the lake. GILH offers a memorable event with really relaxing atmosphere. It feels like visiting family. I think it was pricey for what we were wanting. Ultimately, my daughter chose Basin Harbor for her wedding with so many people traveling from out of state and country.
