A historical theater with class

This theater is beautiful. It shows first run and art films. I love to visit. It is attached to the Latchis Hotel. They frequently promote special musical and film shows.

I like Latchis Theater. It is great getting away from the large national run of the mill theaters. Staff in Latchis are all so pleasant and helpful. Theater is very comfortable and the room is always at the appropriate temperature. They generally have a good choice of movies and if you are lucky enough you will enjoy a live performance... More

We had the pleasure of attending two events on two consecutive evenings in this historic theater. The first evening was the showing of a film and the technical side of things were excellent--good picture, good sound, not too loud, etc. The auditorium was pleasant and comfortable which made for a wonderful evening. The second evening was a benefit concert that... More

Was glad I got to see a movie at the Latchis Theater. It is well maintained and cared for. We got to see a show in the main theater, so I don't know what the other theaters are like. It had an unusual Zodiac 'theme' on the ceiling which I found a little strange, but it was very nice. i... More

What more can I say? Multiplex with great shows, downtown location, in an old, renovated theatre and hotel.

15 years or so ago, both the Latchis Theater and the Latchis family themselves were a bit tired. The place needed work, and though the family was still determined to keep the theater going, they were open to ideas. Along came the late architect Leo Berman, myself, and a few others, who proposed that a new non-profit organization buy the... More

This movie theatre additionally offers beautifully illustrated renderings of the zodiac calendar in the main lobby beneath ones feet. In theatre one, are additional works of art shown on the walls and sculptures carved out of stone. This is ALL available even before watching a tasteful film. Enjoy an experience of watching a movie in a different way.

It was not crowded in the main theater although a late release was playing. Roomy, comfy seats, good sound and an atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by. Recommended!

Small theater with four screens. Two seem to be reserved for artsy movies which was appreciated. We saw Chef and though it was a light movie, it was enjoyable.

I like the history attached to this theatre. Also, the refreshment counter serves home baked cookies. They run at least 4 selections at one time. You can see a first run movie or an art film. This is a beautiful theatre.
