I was really looking forward to this visit and I was underwhelmed at best. Lots of home goods but the pottery was rather plain and unimaginative. Mostly mass produced, it seems. In my opinion, there are much better small potters and shops located in the area and throughout New England. .

Love browsing the shop and the clay works area. Just had to replace a broken quiche dish. New and old styles available. Places/chairs for sitting. Flowers outside are gorgeous and brighten the mill atmosphere of the building.

This is not to be missed in Bennington. When you walk in, there are the typical home goods, but skip across the way to the next building and bring plenty of cash. Up front, the typical jams and Vermont products, but the dishes, glassware, serving plates...well, if it's good enough for the White House, I'd say it's good enough for... More

It was very neat to see the people at work in the factory. The gift shop was a little confusing as to what were seconds and what were not. The staff was helpful so just ask.

There was a lot to look at in this store, but we were disappointed to find the pieces we picked up were made in Japan. Wondering why they would sell pottery made in Japan. They did have some nice pieces though, made there. I would just check the bottom of anything before I bought it.

Hand-crafted pottery and a quick self-tour make this a nice entry (or exit) when visiting southern Vermont. Combine it with a lunch at the nearby pub.

Not only do they have great pottery, but their gift shop has lots of other neat things to purchase. I've been visiting Bennington for years and am sad I have missed this great little gem for so many years.

My wife, who has made pottery, and I visited Bennington Potters in August 2014. I was expecting to see potters at work but instead saw a couple of potters overseeing the creation of hundreds of pieces, which were arranged on trays stacked up ready to be fired. The pottery they make is beautiful, as seen by those on display in... More
