I have read Hemming's Motor News for years, so I was surprised to discover them here in Bennington VT. I had stopped for lunch at the local Brewpub, but discovered Hemmings was less than a mile away. It is an interesting facility, actually a working filling station with a store attached selling a large selection of Hemming merchandise as well... More

Anyone even barely into cars needs to check out the museum. Not that many cars but what they have has a bio. Any they're not roped off. Talk nice and they might even open a hood. Or two. We were there the day of a Cruise-In and they expected 200 cars. The gift shop only had one item I couldn't... More

I had a great time at Hemmings Motor News. The shop has a great selection of automobilia, ranging from books & diecasts to clothing and old time metal signs. The real gem though is their antique car collection, open to visitors for free during the summer. One of the highlights to me was their Brewster, a rare ride from the... More

Visited back in Oct, and it was fun to reminisce over the old cars and trucks, We registered to get Free Catalog and 2 other magazines . None have been received. but we are getting bill for subscriptions. Will never fill out my name again on a similar venue. Too bad this sort of ruins the fun experience we had... More

We were vacationing in New England and while in Vermont visited Hemmings. We spent at least 2 hours here and my husband loved it. The gift shop has awesome car-related items and we purchased Christmas gifts here for the men on my list. This is a full service gas station and they have the black hose across the concrete that... the actual filling station isn't much- just a lot of stuff for sale. Go behind this to the museum, which is free, and see all the restored vehicles. Quite a stunning display (and I'm not a guy and I'm not even a woman who cares much about cars). My husband probably got more out of it than I. I think... More

My husband and I were coming back from taking our son to college, and as we passed the Hemmings company, he said he always wanted to stop there. So we turned around and stopped in. Memories of the 1970's popped into our heads, back when he used to drool over every issue of the Hemmings Motor News, while dreaming of... More

In 2002 after the death of the owner who had purchased the station from its founder, a North Carolina investment group purchased HMN. The original gas station has been replaced with a non-descript building with no characer or resemblance of the original gas station. I rated it poor rather than terrible because of the free antique car exhibit.

Visiting the Hemmings Motor News Filling Station is great fun for any person who loves classic cars. The filling station is a throw back to the 50s. There is a gift shop with cool t-shirts, toys, and metal signs. There is also a free museum in the back that has classic cars to look at. The museum volunteers are fun... More

This was the highlight of my time in Bennington. Its an old fashioned, full service station, with a neat store. However the BEST part is the huge building next door which is a FREE museum of old cars, and other items.
