This is a great historical site that gives you a glimpse into what it would have been like to be an early settler in this area. The LDS missionaries on site are extremely knowledgable about the site as well as Jacob Hamblin, who was a respected friend and ally of the Native Americans.

I took my elderly parents and friends of theirs to the Hamblin Home. I had not been there myself and was pleasantly surprised at how much I learned and now appreciate what these pioneers have done for us. I am also glad I live today! It is a great leisurely tour. I highly recommend it for a spring or fall... More

If you're a member of the LDS Church or not its a great tour. I leafed some history about Southern Utah that I didn't know and the hardships that some of the early settlers had to endure.

The Hamblin home is a wonderful and free historical site. Stop by and check out the old home, take a free tour, and learn about St. George in the old days.

Although I have been to St. George many times this is the first time to make the effort to drive to Santa Clara for a tour of the Jacob Hamblin home. We are planning a family vacation in the area later this year so wanted to check this out. Very pleased with the tour.

I'm a total history buff, and LDS church history is always cool. This home is very historic, but learning about Jacob Hamblin was even better. He's such a great personality to get to know not only as an early member of the LDS church, but as a person who helped to build the West.

The tour given by the missionary couple was great - they know a lot about the house and area. It was fun to walk through and see the house as it might have been in Jacob Hamblin's time.

I loved the historians on-site who donated their time and knowledge about Jacob Hamblin and his homestead. It was fun to see his home (restored and historic) and learn about all of the contributions he had made to the St. George area. He had quite the green thumb with his farm and orchards.

After the visitor center experience, I was much happier visiting the Jacob Hamlin home on the edge of town. Jacob Hamlin was renowned for his work in the LDS church and his interactions with the Native Americans he encountered. The cabin has been well preserved and each room contains interesting items from the Hamlin family. The guide was very knowledgeable... More

The tour takes a different flavor depending on the group members on tour and the mood of the guides. I have been a couple of times and I have heard longer and shorter presentations. Hopefully, you will get the longer version. It is interesting to learn about the polygamy issue in the early days of Utah.
