We had an absolutely amazing horseback ride through the October woods. Our horses were great--very cooperative and in excellent health--and the scenery was fantastic. We went on the 90-minute ride (the only one available in late October) and had some breathtaking views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. What really made the trip stand out, however, was our tour guide... More

If you are looking for horseback riding led by genuine wranglers, with breath-taking scenery, then this is the outfit for you. We rode with Brandon – a very experienced horseman who has an incredible knowledge of the local history and physical environment. The horses were perfectly matched to our riding abilities and the pace was just what we asked for.... More

Two of us had a wonderful ride with Brandon. We opted for the two hour scenic ride although other choices are available. The horses were willing and able, Brandon was full of information about the area (and plays a mean harmonica) and the scenery gorgeous. We would do it again without question.

Dennis was a great guide, keeping an eye out for the riders and telling jokes during the ride. The horses were gentle and didnt require a lot of work to stay on trail. We had 5 riders from never riding to moderately experienced ages from 26-59. The trail wound through the Deer Valley Ski area and some of the views... More

The scenery was amazing, beautiful mountain scenery. Our guide Dennis was very professional, informed, and also really entertaining which made the ride even more enjoyable. I have ridden in many places and this is the best ride I have EVER been on!! Horses were great and gentle. I can’t say enough this was a great ride!!!

I have been on countless rides and have never seen scenery like this. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the location and horses and made sure everyone was having a good time. the horses are all really well trained and never seemed too much to handled. this is something i would make the trip from colorado to do again and... Greatest place I've ever ridden. I've been to Tahoe,Colorado, Arizona and nothing compared to Deer Valley Stables. These guys know how it's done. Fat, happy, great tempered horses for EVERY level of rider, from first timers to the most seasoned riders, we had all different riders and they matched the horses perfectly. On top of that they have very friendly... More

While our trail guides were SUPERB, the trail was very boring! We went up a hill of sagebrush and came down the same trail of sagebrush. The weather (snow) prohibited us from riding a more scenic route, so I would recommend you skip it if that is an issue. The 2 guides were helpful and friendly and informative, but the... More

We took our family on a two hour ride, and the horses were very good....well cared for and easy going, making them nice if you have inexperienced riders. The proximity to Deer Valley is great! That said, so many of the spots we rode were ski trails, not the cozy ride in the woods with breathtaking vistas that I hoped... More

We took a 2 hour trail ride the last weekend in September 2013. Brandon was our trail guide. The horses were well cared for and very personable. Brandon did a great job. Made sure were were safe and comfortable. He had so much interesting knowledge of the area. I can tell he loves his job and his job loves him!... More
