The swaner ecocenter is a visitor center to a preserved meadow wetland in park city. It is located in the New Park shopping area. A visit here will not take very long. They have a boardwalk over the wetland and a viewing tower for an aerial view. The is a small exhibit hall with rotating exhibits.I went to see the... More

The center is a neat LEED building with learning activities for kids. The wetlands view from the center is nice. We went hiking on Glenwild and Blackhawk trails. Nice views of the mountains, but you can also see all of the housing developments, so you don't really feel like you're out in nature. We encountered a lot of mountain bikers,... More

It is intersting to visit for an educational walk, a stroll on your own, etc. It's so wonderful to have such a treasure, especially in such a fast growing area. Much thanks to the Swaner family for establishing this fantastic place.

Unfortunately, not much of nature was stirring when I visited, but I did like the tower available to view the lands and the boardwalk you could walk out on. If you're in the area shopping, it's a nice quiet spot to spend a few minutes and get educated on Utah's creatures and habitats. A few interactive things for kids to... More

Just moved here and had some friends coming from Florida to visit. Took them snow shoeing and we all loved it. Very educational while our guide took us out on the preserve. It was mine and our friends first time shoeing and it was great! The Eco Center as well told lots of history of not only the preserve but... More

After spending a lot of time researching Sunrise and Sunset Photo locations in Park City UT, this turned out to be the best place for sunrise. There are no buildings in the way and the view goes for as far as the eye can see. This is a must and if you are luck you will get a little fog... More

Swaner Nature Preserve was not quite what we expected. The facility is pretty small with only a few exhibits inside although they did provide some fun picture opportunities. The people that work there are AMAZING! They were very helpful. They led our family to a spot where we could see a nest full of baby robins nestled in the crook... More

Recently took the kids for a day, museum activities were a highlight, but the snowshoe tour stole the show. Kids were ages 3 - 7. EcoCenter had the gear and the right trail that was age appropriate. Great family afternoon alternative to skiing. TIP: Hot Cocoa and cookies at Kneaders next door was a great reward.

Not worth the extra effort to go and do unless you are in the area already.
