Description: Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main...
Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

One of the BEST and underutilized attractions in Park City

I was absolutely floored by Park City's RICH history. Who would have known the small city had a red light district, riots, and a booming mining town (no all in that order)? You can even see the old jail. It is eerie, well kept, and done well. Perhaps the eeriness comes from the fact that people have died there as... More

The museum is small, but contains a lot of mining and western artifacts. It is a nice glimpse into the history of Park City and mining.

This is such a fun place to visit with or without kids. The history of Park City is all here and presented in an easy to understand way with many displays. The kids can play a scavenger hunt with a small prize at the end. Tour takes 45 mins - 1 hour. Nice gift shop here, too. Go see what... More

Despite its small size, the 3-story museum packs a punch with a history of mining and skiing that created the boom, bust and boom again economy in Park City. Worth the price of admission and great interactive exhibits on all 3 floors--especially for kids of all ages.

We had some down time (who doesn't) and eagerly toured the museum. It gave so much of the history of Park City, from the silver mines of the 19th Century through to the ski resorts. Most impressive is the scale model of one of the mines--which went 900 or 1000 feet blow the surface. This model takes 2 floors to... More

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Park City Museum. Thank you for taking the time to thoroughly visit the museum. We love to hear that people have had an enjoyable time engaging with Park City's history. The to scale model is indeed based on the silver mining that was done here in Park City. And if you... More
