We stayed at Goulding's Lodge for only one night at the tail end of a spring trip to AZ. Every room has a memorable view of the tribal lands. While not luxurious, the rooms are clean and functional, and the bathrooms, while small, have been updated. I was pleased to see a refrigerator! Also available is a flat screen TV... More

If you stay at Gouldings Lodge you must do their tours, they have several different ones depending on length you want. We did the 4pm de luxe three and half tour, it was fantastic. The tour was given by a local Navajo and so interesting. He takes you off road and into some beautiful areas, photographic opportunities abound, so much... More

The lodge is in a stunning location & very welcoming with good size room, fabulous view from the balcony, comfortable beds, good shower and good food for both dinner and breakfast. We took the half day guided navajo tour which was worth every penny, the guide whom I think was named John was friendly and so knowledgeable he made the... More

I've driven through Monument Valley several times before but this time my wife and I stayed at Goulding's Lodge RV Campground in our motorhome. Although the accommodations are not really deluxe they are very adequate and well maintained. We ate dinner one night in the lodge restaurant and it was very very good. I had a steak and my wife... I got the appetizer of the 4 navajo tacos that had chili, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes on it. It was a huge portion and you definitely could split it with another person as a full meal. Their hot chocolate was amazing. The gift shop is very nice and I ended up buying a couple of hand painted water pitchers that... More

First note: the day was totally fog bound and the temperature hovering around zero all day. This had an impact on the tour. No one's fault - but if possible check the weather before booking Second note: the vehicle is open backed with roll down plastic screens. Draughty and cold on this day. Screens were also dirty and hard to... More

We had the all-day tour, conducted by Joseph. It was excellent. We toured the main valley in the morning, seeing the monuments, visiting a Navajo weaver in her hogan, seeing arches in the sandstone. In the afternoon, we were taken to Mystery Valley, seeing and hiking up to and across arches, and visiting Anasazi cliff dwellings. Joseph has lived in... More

We took the Gouldings tour of Monument Valley in Oct. and recommend it highly. If we had driven through the area on our own, we would have missed so much. Our tour guide, Larry, was fabulous! He was both informative and entertaining, keeping us actively involved throughout the tour. He showed us the best spots for photo opportunities, told us... More

We booked a 1hr 30 mins tour on October 7th as an option for $62.This was described as moderate walking, “you will ride with members of the Navajo Tribe of Native Americans who will teach you about their fascinating heritage and culture ….”. * We were packed into the back of an open 18 seater truck. We stayed on roads... More

Just got back from a girl's Sedona vacation yesterday, and the highlight of our visit was our day trip to this area. If you love Cowboy movies and learning about the gentle Navajo's and their history take the Basic Tour and ask for Benet, a wealth of proud knowledge. Goulding's lunch afterwards at the lodge, was excellent. Enjoy.
