Good x-c skiing

We had two great days of x-c skiing here. The trails are well groomed and varied in terrain. Our 10 and 12 year olds took refresher lessons that were great. A note to the... read more

There are a lot of tracks there but they are poorly marked. Some tracks from green became blue in the middle - and detour which should bring you to a green lane is closed. A number of tracks crosses are not marked at all and you have to wonder what track to choose. Sometimes ski runs ends without any warnings... More

Limited sales of tickets don't matter if the youths cut lines and the staff don't care. A two hour session gets about 4-5 rides. Not great value at all for a large family. This was just one of many disappointing things about this activity. During our visit due to problems with the uplift we managed just two runs down the... More

We had two great days of x-c skiing here. The trails are well groomed and varied in terrain. Our 10 and 12 year olds took refresher lessons that were great. A note to the skiers: At 10:00, 12:00 and 2:00 the folks interested in tubing pile into the place. Many or most of them are terribly rude and pushy (a... More

Thankful for the limited ticket sales, because it was pretty busy. The trails were not very fast for the tubes, but they brought a snowmobile right out to groom the trails. Impressed by the number of staff that were attending the slope too.

We did the Sleepy Hollow Wagon Ride a couple of weeks ago at Soldier Hollow and it was quite nice. The timing was perfect with the sun setting and the light breeze. I was a well done narrated wagon tour with a few surprises along the way. We will likely do it again next year.

Four day event over Labor day weekend. Sheep dogs round up groups of sheep off the side of the mountain while their handlers give them direction through whistles and verbal commands. They bring them down off the mountain through specific openings and then into a round circle where the handler is. Next they separate the sheep from 16 to eight... More

Impressed with the Sheepdog Trials held at Soldier's Hollow September 4-7th. We were out on Sunday (championships were Monday). Very busy spot and easy parking. Lots of food booths, ice cream etc. K9 dog trailer that put on a show. All kinds of things to do. The Navajo rug tent was very interesting, the weaving and the finished products. Would... More

Many events take place at Soldier Hollow. We had the opportunity to view some of the cross country skiing events during the 2002 Winter Olympics. We have also enjoyed snow tubing here. Most recently we attended the Labor Day Sheepdog Trials. This was something we had always wanted to see. It was a little disappointing since we didn't really research... More

With multiple course levels to choose from you have a lot of diversity. The restaurant is good, the location is beautiful. You can't go wrong. Check out their website to get a feel for all they have to offer, year-long.
