After losing at our first attempt at the Wave lottery (which we eventually won at our 4th attempt), we visited the Wire Pass trail and were so happy that we did!! We had visited the Antelope Canyon near Page and thought it was very beautiful but very crowded and this was a great place to get the experince we had... More

We actually won passes to see the Wave. The Wave was stunning, but the whole hike was just amazing. Just got back from Zion and Zion is not nearly as awesome as Wire Pass Trail in Coyote Buttes. If you decide to hike there make sure you have at least a gallon of water per person and do not stay... More

I can't believe I've lived here nearly 5 years and just did Wire Pass Slot Canyon. Beautiful, poetic, colorful and truly a special experience. The rock walls of many colors close in until your hands can trace their mosaic texture. Tremendous. Most tourist migrate to the obvious Antelope Canyon but I finally went to Wire Pass with friends from Dreamland Safari... More

You can get to this trail head which is about 45 miles west of page arizona. You will need to drive ab out 8 miles down a dirt road- if it is dry- most cars can make it but be aware- there is no cell service or any services but pit toilets in the area. At the trail parking lot-... More

The drive to the trailhead is pretty rough, but doable in a 2WD low clearance car. The hike is definitely worth it! More

If you visit here, you must get a permit to the Wave. It's a fairly long hike (about 3 1/2 miles one way over slickrock) but most people in decent shape can do it. The land is fascinating: all kinds of rock formations abound, including teepees, swirling sandstone, spires, waterpockets, dinosaur tracks, you name it. It's a hikers and photographers... More

If you are in the region of Kanab, don't miss this convenient entrance point to a system of slot canyons. After registering at the trail head (no permit needed for one day) you can make it either a short walk, doing just the Wire Pass alone, or you can go on, once you reach its junction with Buckskin Gulch. Already... More

This is a good hike. The canyon is quite nice. I had dogs with me and had a little trouble with the two dropoffs, but I was able to manage alone. I wouldn't want to have to do that with large dogs, though. The trail is poorly marked, (Its across the street from the parking lot and then just follow... More

After failing to get into The Wave we were advised to come down here and was glad we did. The walk through Wire Pass is wonderful, very narrow in places and some 5 - 7ft drops to scramble down and up. It opens up at the intersection of Buckskin Gulch. It was great fun and really enjoyed it. Parkign is... More

Buckskin Gulch is one of the best and longest easier slot canyons that can be traveled. Just pick up a permit at the trailhead and explore for the day from the Wirepass Trailhead. More
