What a great place to see the remains of what was once Lake Bountiful. Kids enjoy being buried in the sand. The sand can be very hot during the heat of the day.

If you have an ATV or other such vehicle this might be more fun, as it is, if you`re a hiker there`s not much. You can walk out onto the dunes (tallest one is several hundred feet high), but be careful of the ATV`s flying over the dunes - they can`t always see you, nor you them. We took a side trip here while staying in Kanab. The drive into the park was as beautiful as the park itself. A charge of $6 is charged to enter the park. We did stop and the overlook and took the hike with the interpretive signs. It was nice but very difficult walking the the sand. We watched the dune...
