I went to Best Friends on a volunteer vacation. It was amazing! I had an orientation, a tour and then my entire schedule was set up, just as I had requested. Having watched Dogtown on NatGeo, we decided to visit. This place is amazing. I had no idea how massive the location is. They own 3800 acres, and lease 30,000 additional acres. The tour is free. I've volunteered at the Sanctuary five times, and it's become an annual trip. For first-timers -- a wonderful combination is to volunteer for a day, then go off to the north rim of the Grand Canyon for a day.
