Stop in at the Blanding Visitor's Center!

The desk clerk was very helpful on local activity suggestions as the weather was quite cold with a lot of rain and some snow.

The gentleman at the desk, Howard, was extremely helpful and full of information about sights in the area. There is a small museum in the center that has lovingly assembled artifacts on the history of the families who settled there. Howard is a direct descendant of those early settlers and could trace his family line back hundreds of years.

The visitor center was not busy and therefore a ranger helped us plan our trip. It is a very small visitor center in the middle of absolutely nowhere. The bathrooms were clean.

Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. To the gentleman who was working in the Blanding Visitor Center around noon yesterday (Thursday, April 9). My husband and I were driving north towards Moab and stopped for a picnic lunch and some information. This gentleman provided us with tips for a couple of extra excursions that we would otherwise have missed. Firstly,... More

The host was very helpful and made some great recommendations for us. He gave us brochures and even gave me a free tootsie roll pop. The restrooms were very clean. There were some interesting exhibits in the visitors center. There were tesla charging stations out in front, which was quite surprising for Blanding, Utah. There was a very nice picnic... More

We arrived at the visitor center 5 minutes after it closed. The gentleman inside saw us, unlocked the door and invited us in. He was sincerely pleased to help us with our questions and recommend things to do while traveling north through central Utah.

This lovely lodge-style building has a visitor's center and a museum as well as bathrooms. There are also several hotels and food options nearby so it's worth a stop.

To be honest, it didn't occur to me to review a visitor's center, which is a shortcoming on my part. I guess I take such places for granted, and that's too bad. In any case, if you're coming to this part of Utah it is imperative that you stop here. The center isn't large, but it's packed with information and... More

We made about a 30 minute stop driving through Monument Valley to Moab. The same wonderful host that day was Mr Lyman as was in July 2010 when I stopped in going the reverse on this route. The place has historical exhibits of the area as well as a beautiful huge petrified wood specimen. Sales consist of books, maps, the... More
