Huge building with not a lot to see. Good place to take preschoolers and let them run up and down the halls, and wear themselves out. The historic village out back was probably the most interesting, but only on a warm sunny day.

Geared toward K-8 kids. Main exhibit probably interests a wider audience, and mammoth site exhibit is interesting for science types.

This is a wonderful, very hands on museum. There are several rooms on the bottom and upper level floor with activities. My children found things they loved in each room. Making the huge bubbles was a big hit, the room where you grind corn was another thumbs up and other areas were all full of activities. I saw that there... More

Again, not a planned stop for us. We were headed out of Waco westward bound and were curious about Baylor. Looking up things to do, we saw that the Mayborn was a destination that had some good reviews. We didn't want to spend a lot of time at the museum because we wanted to get on the road but it... I take my daughter and a friend every few months since the exhibits rotate. Their favorite is the dinosaurs and the trains! So many different things to do, but they do need to keep up with the maintenance and replace some of the play things in the exhibits. I would go during the week since it's not as crowded as... More

The Mayborn is much more than just a run-off-some-energy spot for families with children on road trips, but it is very good for that as well. There are large spaces, dotted with many entertaining and interactive, educational exhibits and activities. The "grown-up" museum is also a nice trip through Central Texas' varied and rather interesting history. The 19th century village... More

On the beautiful Baylor University campus, the Mayborn, although small, is a wonderful learning opportunity, in a beautiful setting, and will charm young and old alike. Not only are there ancient artifacts, animals of the region, and tales of Indians, but out back is a typical 1800's settlement with a drug store, school, barns/animals, homes, and blacksmith shop, all set... Fun place to take family. Lots of interactive things for kids to learn from like the bubble maker! Good display of Mammoth bones that you can walk over.

My 3 year old loves this place. He goes from room to room over and over playing with everything in each room. I love that it promotes learning play and kids think it's so fun. My little one asks to go to the Museum all the time!!

Saw the odyssey marine exhibit of treasure from the SS republic, the Tortuga, and other wreck sites. A very intertaining experience. Also saw their permanent displays on natural history, paleontology ad archeology.
