If you have never cruised on a very small old river steamboat then this could be one of the last in the nation. This is a small boat that holds about 35 passengers although the day we were there only 12 passengers were on boat. This boat is actually moored at the Big Pine Lodge in Karnack, Texas and the... I was hoping to see an alligator but that's okay. We took the pontoon tour instead of the Steamboat only because the pontoon can get into the swamps and the Steamboat can't. Overall good tour. Beautiful scenery in the swamps and took lots of pictures. Harold, the guide, was very knowledgeable of the area, history, plant and wildlife. Very personable... More

Really enjoyed the tour and opportunity to ride on a boat that is a piece of history. Captain Ron was awesome and let the kids drive the boat and blow the steam whistle. Enjoyed his humor as well. If your uptight or a tree huggin hippie, you may not be able to allow yourself to let loose and laugh at... More

We took the smaller boat on an evening bayou tour. Our guide was excellent at teaching us about the area. It was very relaxing and a great way to end our day of traveling.

I really hated to write this review however my wife and I made this trip one of our top 3 reasons for vacationing here. When we got there we were informed that not enough people were riding to accommodate the steamboat so we were taking a pontoon boat. They stated that it only really runs on the weekends. My wife... We took our eight year old granddaughter on the boat tour. She enjoyed getting to steer for a few minutes. The captain was nice and let all the kids who wanted to steer get behind the wheel for awhile. He was full of information about Caddo Lake. We thought the tour was a little to long. About half the time... More

We enjoyed our trip with Captain Ron. It was a hot July day. Once the boat began moving Capt. Ron steered the boat into the shade along the banks to keep it cool. He was very knowledgeable. He told funny stories along the journey. He allowed our daughter and exchange student to steer the boat!!!

Captain Ron is enthusiastic, entertaining, and informative! My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our ride on his steamboat and we highly recommend it. The scene was beautiful along Caddo Lake with 'Spanish" moss and Bald cypress trees. Captain Ron will explain both the moss and trees plus so much more! Although a few of the jokes were on me, I... A steam powered stern paddle wheeler this is a very special and relaxing trip. At a gentle walking pace the captain provides an entertaining and interesting commentary interacting with his passengers and providing lots of Texan political viewpoints. The boat has an upper passenger area as well as a further seating area at the front giving all very good views.... More
