I book a day Jeep trip of the Camino Del Rio with Greg after talking with him about how to see some of the best areas of Big Bend. My husband and I had been to the park two years earlier and had driven all the paved roads. This return meant more adventure on the back roads. We met Grady,... More

We recently visited the Big Bend area with another couple and booked an all day off of the beaten path Hummer river tour. The tour was presented as an 8 hour experience and was it ever. We were met at Far Flung headquarters by our guide Jenny and were immediately whisked away on an incredible adventure. This is definitely the way... More

We did the Santa Alana Canyon canoe float via Far Flung Outdoor Adventures. Our guides were Jody and Erica, they were simply amazing, knowledgable, personal able, funny and they engage you for the entire van ride to and from the float site giving you history and information about the area and landscape. The float itself was breathtaking and exhilarating. Lunch... More

My husband had contacted Desert Sports to arrange a river trip prior to our visit to Big Bend. When we went to finalize the trip, Desert Sports was not accommodating, but they thankfully directed us to Far Flung and we easily booked a trip for the next day. Every staff person was friendly and knowledgeable. The level of concern and... More

Recently widowed, I made myself sign up solo for my first water outing. I was hesitant, not knowing if I had the will to carry through on my husband's birthday. What I found was an excellent guide, great rafting companions, a sense of belonging, and solace in the beautiful Colorado Canyon. I was not at all an outsider on this... More

5 friends of varying fitness levels and backgrounds stayed at the casitas and did the 1/2 day raft trip. We were hoping for a great experience and Far Flung exceeded our expectations! The rooms were beautiful and well-appointed; the raft guide, Erin, was very knowledgeable, according to the geologist in our group, and shared lots of interesting information. Any transaction... This place was ideal. Clean roomy casitas at the entrance to the national park. Enjoyed the patio and the mini kitchen. Staff was great.

We took a five-day canoe trip through the scenic canyons of Big Bend National Park with Far Flung. This vacation with our almost-adult sons was everything we had hoped it would be--beautiful scenery, competent, experienced, and fun guides. Lots of side hiking, delicious meals, and great chance to be together with family. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique... More

We took a canoe trip with FFOC that included lunch and some incredible sights. Who know that kind of scenery existed in Texas? The FFOC folks were organized and really friendly. Our guide (Jody) must've answered a thousand of our questions about the region, its history, and its wildlife...all with a smile. And his canoeing skills made all the difference... More

Our full-day canoe trip down the Rio Grand past the Hot Tub Canyon was so much more than we expected! Our guide, Jody, was the best! He was so much more than just a river guide - throughout the day, he shared with us his obvious passion for the history, flora, fauna, and interesting stories of this beautiful region. We... More
