My wife and I had a great time staying at Far Flung's Casitas, which are a fantastic value that I strongly recommend for anyone staying overnight in Terlingua. Due to our schedule, we were only able to do a half-day river tour over at the state park but we are glad we chose that as I think a full-day tour... More

We kayak'd with seasoned guides in the Big Bend State Park (west of Big Bend National Park, past Lajitas). The peaceful Rio Grande was gorgeous from the water. A laid-back trip, with beautiful views. Fun times for all ages. No danger - the water is so low that currents are gentle.

We did a half-day canoe trip, which was all that was offered because of low water levels. So by the time we drove to the put-in, unloaded all the gear and boats, listened to all the instructions, we probably only had 2 hours on the river, and that's being generous. They also stop after about 1/2 hour to set up... More

Had a great time with our river guides Billy and Laura. They were both very knowledgable about the area and were great to spend the day with. Lunch was great too! Just a reminder to everyone considering a trip with Far Flung, don't forget to tip your guides! They do a great job, are performing a top notch service and... More

We did an ATV trip that was just the two of us and our guide, Grady. We drove down creek beds and through the mountains, stopping along the way to learn about plants (tasting a bunch of stuff) and geology, but if you care about that stuff I'm sure they will forego it. Grady is from the area and a... More

We have stayed at Far Flung twice in the last four months. The first time, we went just before Christmas as a family (kids aged 2 & 6) and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned with my sister and family (kids aged 6 and 11) 3 months later. The lodging is perfect. The casitas are well thought out... More

I book a day Jeep trip of the Camino Del Rio with Greg after talking with him about how to see some of the best areas of Big Bend. My husband and I had been to the park two years earlier and had driven all the paved roads. This return meant more adventure on the back roads. We met Grady,... More

We recently visited the Big Bend area with another couple and booked an all day off of the beaten path Hummer river tour. The tour was presented as an 8 hour experience and was it ever. We were met at Far Flung headquarters by our guide Jenny and were immediately whisked away on an incredible adventure. This is definitely the way... More

We did the Santa Alana Canyon canoe float via Far Flung Outdoor Adventures. Our guides were Jody and Erica, they were simply amazing, knowledgable, personal able, funny and they engage you for the entire van ride to and from the float site giving you history and information about the area and landscape. The float itself was breathtaking and exhilarating. Lunch... More
